Sorry forgot!

The image on the recovery partition is just that, an image to restore off as if it were new again. The disc contains Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and just that, the COA is of course on the underside of the laptop

So you could delete all the partitions and do a fresh format / reinstall of Win 7 HP basically. Good news, will put in an order.

May go for the top spec £599 model as it includes the 8 cell battery / 4GB DDR3 / better graphics as standard and seems better value than the £529 model I was originally thinking of. Shame the battery is physically bigger though.

No biggy though, the 4500MHD is still good and handles everything nicely so far, just Need another battery!

I was looking at this in the dell store .. but I couldnt get it close to £522 with the same specs :'(. I think it was closer to the £700 mark

And I'm keeping my eyes peeled on third party batteries around 6 to 8 cells that doesn't stick out

Because thetrackpad on the Compaw was not what I was looking for and I wanted something with more CPU power.

No matter how you look at it the Atoms just won't run Win7 as slick as the Intel C2D CULV chips!

Windows 7 ran fine on my NC10, though I did upgrade the hard drive to an SSD!

It's already available in the UK, hence why I bought it lol.

I've only had 3 new laptops, NC10, 311c and now the 13z, the ones before that were cheap old 2nd hand ones!

The NC10 was indeed fine with Win7 (then RC) but the 13z is just faster at booting, loading apps and in general doing everything else that uses the CPU - expectedly!
