Dell U2711..is it worth the money?

its hdmi, ive tried everything, i spent days trying different settings but nothing worked, i can get 1080p resolution but the quality is terrible and all grainy and cant ready anything, i just went back to 1360x768

Try another hdmi cable perhaps? Thats what my monitor was like at 2560x1600. Had the resolution but it was grainy and jagged. Although i dont have my cable yet i know its the cause as current vga res is immaculate.

picked up my U2711 last week - and can confirm it is definitely worth the cost.

as mentioned the build quality and picture is excellent - personally im not senstivie to the AG coating

gaming is excellent playing BF3 and Skrim through my GTX680

a full recommedation for this monitor from me.

well its one day for me untill i can order my u2711 im looking at various official dell sources as well as the obvious , and have found various prices for rev 09 rev 10 and rev 11 versions i wonder what the diference is between them cant seem to find out . any ideas ? what rev is the oc one ?

ordered one this morning for £509 and its a REV A11 the very latest. waiting on delivery now and will post more as i unpack and set it up

Pulled the trigger on one of these, should be here tomorrow or Friday. Moving from a 2707wfp so I'm just hoping the smallness of the text doesn't give me headaches.

Fantastic, its a great monitor. I got my proper Dual link DVI cable today, rather than the cheap one i got form ebay - 2560 x 1600 = WOW :D

just arrived thats uber quick delivery! wont be leaving work untill 3pm so cant go unpack it just yet this is going to be a long day at work

Mine arrived today and it's a very impressive monitor. One of the downfalls though is that text is absolutely tiny - coming from a 1920 x 1200 (27") to a 2560 x 1440 (27") is a huge part of the problem though, given the 2707wfp's small resolution for its physical size.

Have played with some browser settings in Safari (On OS X, think there's overall DPI adjustment for Windows) and whilst this has worked, there's no universal preference so you get texts of all sizes all over the place. Pretty messy.

Anyone have the same trouble and get used to the text after time? Don't have any vision problems but small text does give me sore eyes.

There must be a way of doing it dude.

The company laptops we get have 1920x1080 in a 15.4" screen... the default Dell OS build they come with has some zoom enabled that zooms everything, including applications that have had their pixel size forced.

First thing I did when I got my laptop was throw an SSD in it and re-install the OS myself, so I can't find out what software they're using... if I track it down, I'll post back.

... I prefer the smaller text, could make it even smaller for me but need more pixels :p
