Font is Futura Std Extra Bold. But I had to tidy up its edges as they looked a bit wonky and I just created a new 'c' from two circles and cut off its end.

I seriously don't know why Samione is posting in this thread. He has absolutely nothing constructive to contribute and has offered nothing apart from antagonism. The way I see it is all he has achieved is attempt to show everybody else what a "pro" he is at graphics design, trying to belittle everyone else in the process :rolleyes:.

News flash for you Samione: You are not special mate, make a serious submission on here, offer constructive critiscm that doesn't shout "you are all useless and I am so much better than you", or do not post any further.

Whatever logo is picked I think it should contain both OCUK and Overclockers on it because there are lots of people who know one or the other.

try not to worry about samione. check his post history, hes done this kind of thing a few times.

he seems to get very angry that people who arent professional designers are able to use photoshop etc. i think what angers him the most is that Spie and other people arent paying someone like him thousands of pounds to do come up with a design.

some very talented people on here, im not suprised that Spie has gone down this root at all.

Simply put, it's the behaviour of a 12-year old bully

Belittling other people's work isn't what a real professional would do, its something that an insecure person does.

This happened at work once, the 'artist' was in a right fit when their design was thrown out for a voluntary one done by a young person...it was all so sad seeing them give the usual industry jargon. Boss kept on saying '...but I like this one..', '...but I like this one..' to everything until she said '...but I don't like you no more'.

There are people who can master photoshop but their creativity, character sucks so much that you can't work with their attitude. The young person on the other hand had the creative skills and the right attitude, few photoshop courses later he made a lot of logos designs for us & partners.

Yeah, agreed. At the very least, it's given people who are new to progs like ps and illustrator some ideas and direction. Even if they're just playing around with design, even if it's their first attempts and they aren't very good, it's getting their creative juices flowing. Encouraging creativity is good.

There's been some fantastic entries both amateur and professional.

This is a great thread.

Samione submits a superior professional effort but tells Spie that he cannot use it unless he wants it and is willing to properly pay for it.
Spie is a business man and knows that a professional design can reap rewards and the price difference would be neglible for such a logo.
Spie could use the runner-up logo for other stuff.
I've just paid £2000 for a pro graphic designer to produce stuff for a NHS careers road atlas that will go into every school and AimHigher who commisioned the project are over the moon with the results.

Go Samione.
 
I still see no evidence of how his work his any better than some of those that have been posted in here.

Who is to say his is any better than Martian Aphids for example?

For some reason he hasn't been able to do that - he has however wasted time making arrogant posts and mocking other entrants.
 
Could a mod clean up this thread, majority of the posts here are pointless (including this one...) ¬_¬
