Get a new mat :D

Edit: I have a Boogie Bug, but using my SteelSeries somethingorother pad at the moment as I like to use my desk in the summer, in the winter when it gets chilly I'll bring it back out to keep my arms warm.

Had my Boogie Bug for a year now and the edges have long been worn and bended near the areas where I rest my wrists. Anyone got any idea how I can go about protecting the edges? I was thinking of maybe adding silicone protectors to the sides to not only keep it flat, but prevent further damage and to weight it down. I've no idea what the actual name for them is though, like ones found on welcome mats for example.

Here's a pic to show you what I mean, it's really becoming a bother now :(

Wow that is one crinkled mat! I imagine that if you weighed the sides down eventually it'll stretch and that will happen again anyway. I'd consider backing the bug onto some kind of hard surface, like thin plastic. Granted it wont roll up anymore, but it also wouldn't do that at the edges.

How on earth?
I had my boogie before I switched to a ocuk one, I wrest my rists on both of the and the most that has happened is very slight fraying....

No idea, could potentially have been stretching? For most of the past year I've had massive uni books sitting on the left hand side, maybe movements of the mat stretched it out while that side stayed stable? But every other edge is fine.

Does the OCUK one have stitched edges to prevent fraying? I'd preferably replace this with an equally sized mat (it's the XL 90cm x 45cm) or go with the plastic backing idea. Or I may just cut it down with a stanley knife

When I got my boogie board I used double sided tape to tape to the desk as I'm a bit of a neat freak and didn't want it moving. Still going great now.

I love how there's no door as you've to turn around the corner. Love the little case. :D

Ah that's a nice idea, you reckon it'll still work given the crinkles that are present now?

Yeah don't see why not, might not be perfect but certainly better. Make you get some strong tape, I only did along the sides but it's never moved for months.

The flash made it look very messy but it isn't.

Jeci what desk is that mate?

It's an ikea jobby. Table + Legs brought separately, then I brought a shelf + legs separately as well, all in the birch finish.

I can't remember the swedish names for all of the parts, but it should be enough to get you started :p

The old massive case with the Sabertooth Z77 & HD 7970.

The new smaller case with the Gene V & the GTX 780.
