Apparently Bungie are in discussion over un-sunsetting content that still has to be paid for i.e. forsaken and shadowkeep. God I hope so it would salvage some of what has been a disastrous week for the game, plus o could use my arc logic again

I hope so! So many masterworked items and great weapons.
Yep plus it would give validity back to thinks like the blind well, alters of sorrow and especially PoH that drops weekly masterworked armor. It would even free up the odd LMG...
quite frankly I'm amazed that someone hasn't kicked off something legal over them removing access to a game that was paid for.
I bought D2 and the DLC all the way to shadowkeep. what right do they have to stop me playing that game.

I always assumed it was Activision that were causing all the problems with the Destiny franchise. Guess not.
Sometimes want to go back to Destiny 2, but I've bought no DLC and feel there's just no reason. I'd be pretty miffed if I paid their poor DLC prices, and that content was removed later down the road.

I do get it. With the previous stuff, it was about 178GB in size inc Beyond Light.
Something needs to give... but why not make it an option?
They've always said it is an evolving story. Maybe they should sell it as a subscription service? £4 a month or whatever that way it covers them.

Could see that being the next step if things don't change. I played at launch (2017?) And only picked it up again in April this year, purchased forsaken and shadowkeep just before arrivals started. I've had literally one seasons validity from two expansions.
Seemingly today's weekly refresh is bringing us a way to farm loot a-la umbral style.
It already basically is a subscription service. £40 a year in season passes and £40 yearly expansion, and let's not forget all that silver they want you to buy now eververse engrams seem to only drop blue emotes and transmat effects!

Excellent, that's impressive. I'm sitting at 1245 on my third, including artifact also. Didn't really optimise the drops like I could have if I'd had more time, pesky work! Problem is that raid doesn't take into consideration the artifact power levels, so really have to optimise this coming weeks powerfuls and pinnacles to get that base level up! Having fun though, love stasis and looking forward to unlocking more of it! I do think they need to address the amount of viable weapons, especially for players who didn't play the past couple of seasons.
As someone who's looking for another shooter looter (my main game is Division 2), and I enjoy the grind in these games, is it worth getting into this now? I haven't played Destiny before and the legendary edition (all 3 dlc's, including the new one) is available for £60 on steam.

Personally I'd see what the outcome is of the sunsetting uproar. For a new player it would be pretty damn difficult just now to get any sort of meaningful loadouts. Then again, we need to see what todays 'season opener' has to offer in regards of loot. Its criminal they're charging for FS/SK at the moment as not one item tied to those DLC packs is viable to use at the moment.
Beyond Light IS a good DLC, its just heavily tarnished by making pretty much everything outside of it pointless.

Currently 1236 (1227+9, not touched my hunter or titan yet) still got another couple of pinnacles to get this week, along with prime engrams I should easily be at 1230 for the weekend, though not going to be able to go near the raid until early next week when I have the time to invest in it. Though the way things are going it wouldn't at all surprise me for someone to find a day 1 bug that makes encounters skippable or the raid its self bugs out and becomes impossible to finish, resulting in Bungie adding it to the growing list of things removed from this expansion.
I just hope its not a stupidly complex raid. As it is there is zero introduction level raids for new players, both LW and GoS are tricky to learn, they should have kept SOTP and/or menagerie.

Its a tough sell right now for new/returning players. If its been a year or so then pretty much everything you have excluding exotics will be useless, the world drop pool is pathetic and the Europa/wrathborn weapons are nothing to sing and dance about either. Its amazing how last season offered more content/weapons/armor then this DLC+Season has so far. Not touched any of the new weapons as they're all pretty garbage besides deafening whisper, which has two things going against it, 1 if I'm using a 'nade launcher odds are its witherhoard and 2, for this season at least if I want a wave frame launcher its going to be marty's.
