This is before the forever 29 issue, whereby it didn't matter how many times you ran VoG you couldn't get to level 30 (max light effectively) without the right drops. I was forever 29 due to missing gauntlets until the first round of Iron Banana whereby I became a "fake" 30....

IIRC I was either level 28 or 29 in the final boss room and the Praetorians were basically team shoot only as you stood no chance taking them on solo without the right weapons (which no one had.. unless you were Davie who had ******* everything on his first run!).

Ah, I bought it when it first came out with the follow up expansions, but I never got that far into it, only sort of the main quests then that was it. Never had people to play with so never did any group dungeons or raids.

Warmind and curse of Osiris went free to play, so the things you'll miss out on is anything from forsaken, shadowkeep and beyond light, though that's a hell of a lot of campaign to keep you busy before even considering the more end game stuff like raids and GM's. The one thing that's always been strong with D2 is the gun play, give it a whirl!
 
Finally got caught up with this season's story via the weekly quests etc... The story/lore dept at bungie have really outdone them selves. Lakshmi-2 underlying hatred for the house light, singing savathuns song, crow whistling savathuns song, misraaks cut scene showing how the fallen fear the monster that is saint-14, been very gripping and setting up nicely for the witch queen in January, where hopefully we will finally come to blows with savathun and xivu arath
 
Very hyped for the new season and DLC, Gjally comming back, hive guardians, savathuns throne world, a new or reprised raid or dungeon every 3 months, trails behind a paywall.

On the other hand I've managed about 30 seconds of the new season without it crashing, very common apparently.

Edit: The new seasonal activity is mayhem, love it! Not quite on the level of Menagerie but still an improvement on override for a 6 man activity.

Haven’t played in a while, I played some
beyond light free content but never did buy it. If I jump back in I assume it makes sense to buy Beyond light to tie me over until Witch Queen comes out? Or should I just buy season 15 pass and play that content exclusively?
 
I've had a lot of catching up to do as I took about a year off after playing fairly regularly since launch. I usually use all 3 guardians but I've been using my hunter only for the last two weeks just so I could catch up on all of the content and not split my time. Managed to get a decent chunk of season 14 done in 12 days before that ended but I'm also trying to do some season 12, 13 stuff, finish some 14 quests and now 15. It's become a full time job pretty much :D.

Managed to get a few new exotics and catalysts for my collection which is very close to being complete, out of 83 exotic weapons I have 73 so far so no too bad.

Absolutely love the Ruinous Effigy though, that weapon is just insane with the catalyst, decent damage as a gun but those orbs when you slam them down are nuts :D

Need to find a new clan still as I haven't had one since coming back so will start looking soon unless there's any going around here.

If you already have forsaken and shadowkeep, I'd recommend getting beyond light - I believe the delux edition grants you access to all Y4 seasons (hunt, chosen, splicer & Lost) which would greatly improve your loot pool and available exotics. Plus Stasis is finally in a balanced state on all classes, it took around 9 months but they got there lol.

A shame they inexplicably nerfed the hell out of it in Hunt, it was fun last season with energy accelerant and warminds decree, the artifact is pretty weak this season unfortunately.
