Destiny 2

Well, I got over my Destiny 2 burn-out and last night I smahed the Osiris DLC, and then this evening I just got the Hand-Cannon from Warmind. What else is there to do now in Warmind, other than hardcore grind? Also, how do I get above Power Level 345?

Do your milestones, flashpoints, clan xp, call to arms, nightfall etc etc :)

I am pretty much up to the same point as you on the quest line now. The HC is pretty nice.

Sitting at a round 348 with my best gear. Need to crack the PVP milestone and grind for the Sleeper now. :)

Overall I am liking this expansion but there are some definite negatives:

- Strike / story mission copy & paste - why can't we have actual separate but still story linked strikes?!

- The grind past 345 is real. I am unsure if certain things are broken atm but Heroics (350 PL) are only granting 335 blues. My legendary engrams have also capped at 340. Considering the overall PL cap is 380/385 this seems somewhat low. Whether this grind is worth it is an unknown atm.

- Some Exotic Armour pieces seem completely naff compared to others. A chest piece for the WL grants "Detailed radar whilst standing in a rift". Seriously, that is it?! This is in stark contrast to the guns which have seen a complete overhaul.

- Whilst the overall story was an improvement on CoO it did leave me scratching my head in places. I won't go into spoilers this early on but it did leave me wondering whether cut scenes / dialogue had been cut. Additionally one line by the ghost near the end annoyed me. If you catch the line and have beaten King's Fall (D1) you will know what I mean.

There are of course positives:

- Weapons overall feel good. The Exotic re-balance / tune up has seen some of the garbage exotics become some of the best.

- The overall tone of this expansion is a vast improvement on what we have seen in D2 so far. More mystery and far less childish gags/one liners. There is also plenty of hidden lore available which was completely missing up to this point. Additionally the look and feel of the Mars area is excellent. The lighting and audio really make the game look and sound gorgeous. (Framerate be damned...)

- Escalation protocol is brutally hard and a fun distraction whilst on patrol.

- There does seem to be more to do / grind for this time around post story completion. How long it will stay *fun* is another matter entirely.

Overall I would say this is a step in the right direction albeit a small one.

Yep :)

I have a few Cabal / Hive still to get but that is pretty easy at the spawn on mars (may as well start a EP for the quick Hive kills).

After you left last night I spent a few mins grinding. There were 6 of us attempting the EP on the left hand side. Once again it was super smooth (and quick) until the Ogre appeared. Multiple supers and spears later and he was only at half health. That last half is brutal with all the adds plus the Ogre beam damage.

Ok so it looks like to get higher than ~ 350ish we need to raid (raid stuff drops at higher PL than your current overall average).

By raid I don't mean the new one but the ones that already exist.

Anyone up for a normal Leviathan run? (Or an attempt at EoW which I haven't even tried.. *Yay for CoO being so **** & killing the game for a large portion of our clan*).

I was almost interested in getting D2 finally until I learned they've doubled down on the most obnoxious part of the game (light level grinding) :(

Might just go and play D1 for a while and remember the good old days...

So i dipped my toe back into Destiny 2. I haven't started the new campaign yet was just doing strikes to feel familiarized. I guess my burn out is still there as I got bored. I'll start the story mode later to see if it piques my interest.

Light leveling up wise is it better to do strikes, events before tackling the new campaign? what i mean is are the rewards I get from story mode capped? or matches my current light level (340-345).
