Destiny 2

Destiny 2 will never be as good as destiny 1. But honestly speaking I couldn’t go back to D1 now, it’s old and clunky.
I’m just enjoying the 60fps on the series x at the moment. If it didn’t have that option I don’t think I’d be playing D2 all that much.

Although I do have a very soft spot for the deep stone crypt raid. The music and ambience is amazing, it’s not a long or difficult raid either. Quite the opposite, I’ve done around 12 runs of it and usually average around 45mins or so.

But D2 definitely needs a new direction or a new game director as Luke Smith is just a joke now. I’ll never forget the bit where they said a few yrs back that we don’t want you to look at a weapons or armour piece and think I don’t want to lose that. With the new DLC just launched they sunsetted ie retired quite a few weapons and armour pieces. Now people are up in arms because it was just nonsensical from Bungies part. God knows why Luke Smith, former WoW player was taken on to be destiny team lead. He truly had no idea and is slowly ruining the game for lots of people.

I stopped after seasonal mods became a thing. Grind for 12 weeks to max out your gear and it becomes worthless on season reset. No thanks.

The changes they've made killed the end game for me. It was all about leveling up, then getting the gear you want, then min/maxing your build but all of that is rendered pointless now.

What's the best way to play this? I've never been a big Destiny fan, never played D1, but did try D2 on pc when it launched. I couldn't get into it back then, but played it on series x today on big OLED and loved it. Problem is, I've no idea on what the hell I should be doing. Is there a story? What are the raids? Do I just run around these big areas killing the unlimited spawning enemies?

Just need some pointers.

All the missions/strikes/raids/PVP is done from the Director. If you were following the game from the start, it’ll introduce all that stuff to you.

First finish off all the story missions from each planet if they are available.
Once you have done that then the real grind begins by doing powerful activities and bounties. Things like strikes, gambit, nightfall and crucible. Grind those as much as you can, get to 1250 power level then start doing pinnacle activities and that will get your weapons/armour up to 1260 power level.

Thank you mate.

Do they still lock unique weapons/armour behind Crucible activities (or PvP only)? I hated that in Destiny 1 because I'm atrocious at PvP.

Yes they do. I suck at pvp myself but I’ve still managed to get weapons and armour from it.

Yeah I did the same. I think I lasted 2 seasons and was like, nah I'm good thanks.
Haven't played for prob 18 months or so no, maybe longer.

Stick to Mayhem and super everything.... well... until you are constantly frozen...
Problem is mayhem isn’t a regular play mode like control ie it’s not always there. Think it’s about 2-3 times in a season it will come back.
But mayhem is fun, constant barrage of supers lol.

Just bought beyond light and the season pass for £28 on the psn sale. I made it even cheaper by getting a £50 psn card for £44.

It looks incredible on ps5 in 4k 60 FPS. The new FOV slider is appreciated and everything seems snappier.

I'm concentrating on levelling my warlock initially. So far so good I'm glad I took a break from it but I'm enjoying being back.

Same albeit on Series X.

I mainly play on PC at 1440p/100+ FPS but was genuinely surprised how good it feels on console. The FoV slider is a god send having got used to it on PC.

Hilariously I did a comparison recently between the Cosmodrome on PS3 / PS4 (Pro) and Series X. It was like putting my glasses back on after giving them a good clean....:D

New season seems to be pretty good so far, the new exotic bow is quite nuts when paired with a good build.

Also smg’s feel so much better on console due to Bungie patching them to act more like they do on pc ie recoil isn’t as bad and much more stable.

So far quite enjoying the new season, some nice weapons have been added to the loot pool.

I'm still confused as hell with this game, there's no particular campaign path, missions and quests are popping up here there and everywhere. I go to quests and I seem to be here there and everywhere trying yo work our what the hell I'm doing and in what order. Now I'm off to Europe for some reason and I've no idea if this is new content. It must be one of the most confusing games I've ever played. I really like it though but I'm bloody clueless as to what I'm supposed to do so just go clicking everything, activating everything when speaking to characters just because I can.

managed to get a god roll crown splitter sword for my titan, been playing a bit on that charicter and i have to say with that sword having tireless blade and whirlwind too it can kill most bosses in one powered hit, i saw the dmg output anywhere from 189k dps for normal swing upto 542k dps for a heavy attack, its incredible.

got great rolls on my primary and seconday too, all masterworked inc sword, i can finally go into gambit and cause some real dmg against the primevil.

my hunter is maxed out and my warlock aint too bad, bit peeved as i had to delete my solstice of heros armor, man i had epic rolls on that but the armor was sunsetted last season so it was useless, nevermind the grind continues :)
