Destiny 2

Yeah I read the same thing, Luke Smith said the GPU is powerful enough but its the CPU that's holding it back, specially with all the enemy A.I and other FX etc etc.

Edit: http://www.dualshockers.com/bungie-destiny-2-30-fps-consoles-ps4-pro-60-fps/

I'm looking into getting a decent PC built and probably double dip to.
Thats the one. I should clarify, I was planning to have PC as my main platform, but may double dip due to the potential delay. Let me know if you get your PC built, should be epic for the beta :)

Will do :) Been out the loop for a while but started looking at bits and bobs already.

I am hoping my i7 4770 / GTX 1070 combo will be enough for max settings at 1080p if not 1440p.

I need to get a new monitor first though. I am holding off as I don't want to go down the 1440p G-sync route only to find AMD knock it out of the park with Vega. Freesync 1440p is a lot cheaper!

wonder what the difference will be on a 1080p monitor with ps4 vs ps4 pro. i've got a 4k tv but it's in the living room and all my gaming stuff is in the games room.

i could always buy a ps4 pro and keep the current ps4 too but the difference would have to be worth it and having to lug my mixamp, etc about from room to room. up until now though buying a ps4 pro hasn't been worth it if you already own a ps4, difference was minimal at best.

Having heard all of the opinions about the PC version.. my wallet is twitching like mad.

Venom/JP/Oweo.. are you guys confirmed PC adopters?

It seems ludicrous to blow ~1500-2000 on a machine just for one game.. however.. it's really the only game I play. #loosejustification

Especially since I'm almost certain to grab a Pro for TLOU2

No my main will still be PS4. I will just dabble with the PC version from time to time. (I do this with my Xbone copy of D1).

It might actually make me get a second PS4 pro for my 1080p TV upstairs. The net result should be super-sampling applied for he 1080p output. Also it would mean I could co-op again in Neverwinter as the Pro makes it vastly more playable in Dungeons / group activities.

I went from PS4 to PS4 Pro on a 1080p monitor (mainly due to the fact that my launch PS4 was starting to sound pretty worn out) For something like Destiny the only noticeable difference was noise output.

@Chandler_90 Yep, I will be, with all the features and higher FPS there is no contest really. I will probably start off on PS4 though due to the rumoured delay to PC. 1.5-2k is a hell of a lot, surely you can find some decent deals in the MM etc? You have time to build it up gradually...sell that Mac Mini for a start?! I can also do you mates rates on my 1080 if you want :)

TBH a nice Ryzen 1700 / B350 / 16GB DDR4 / GTX 1070 or AMD equivalent should be do-able around the £1200 mark.

Won't be a 4K/60fps monster but should be more than adequate to enjoy the game.

For me I just want to sit back an relax on the sofa playing it. Plus my Mrs has no interest in the PC version (and I would need a second gaming pc anyway.... oooo ideas! :D).

I'm moving onto PC, but like Venomings I'll probably pick up the PS4 version if the PC release is delayed.

I would be surprised if my PC (spec in sig) can't run D2 at high FPS in 1080p. I am very tempted to change to an 1080 Ti, i7 and 4K monitor though.

I was thinking of something along these lines.. with a GPU and RAM upgrade closer towards release.. or just build a machine around release time to keep the cost down.

The OLED TV will be the real wallet slayer lmfao.

So both console and pc to be p2p,then bungie claim pvp to be 4v4 across the board like it's meant to be cheared?dedicated servers and bet we'd have 20-24 player game modes to have some fun with.
Dread to think of my hrs playing destiny since launch, but if pvp turns out to be nothing but domain of few hundred dedicated trials type players in teams shooting more casual pvpers knackers off it'll be like a ghost town after couple of months.
Week if lucky hammering the campaign and seeing all the strikes x amount of times and then it'll be almost identical level grind to first game.
Love the movement and gunplay in destiny, but will wait awhile this time before buying.

You have time to build it up gradually

That's what I'm gonna do, buy the parts over the next few months.

@parsnip will be getting it for the PS4 to but been thinking about getting back into the PC for a while now :)

How can I justify a new Ryzen build to my Mrs....

If I say I want a Ryzen build she will ask what is wrong with my i7 build... (she knows about the specs).

Pull a few tiny cables off the motherboard, Oh no! It appears my i7 build has stopped working and it can't be fixed. Need a Ryzen build now! once you have it oh it appears I managed to fixed the i7.

Must have been my Destiny.... Ill leave now.

I've ordered the PS4 Collectors edition.. but I'll need a Pro too lol.. I think saving cash up and building closer to the time when prices have hopefully dropped may be the way to go.

Superb :D

isn't intel still better for gaming though? ryzen just has more cores so better for encoding? most games cannot make use of all the cores ryzen has for instance. especially when intel already has lots of cores and hyperthreading.

surely it makes sense just to upgrade your cpu for whatever the best is in your current socket then upgrade the GPU? rather than blow it all on a full system.

when i was looking at parts 3 months ago everyone said forget ryzen, so i got kabylake.

Agreed, it's my major gripe with the whole reveal. Just announcing 4v4 like its some holy grail was a poor choice. The more I think about it, the more I think they should have kept it a PvE only reveal and at least got a ranking system sorted before delving into the PvP side in the next event. In a funny way they could have hyped the whole reveal by opening with a simple screen reading "dedicated servers", then fade to black for a minute.

A lot of the community/YouTubers have already covered the PvP short falls, I hope it will put pressure on Bungie going forward with the PvP side of things and adding ranking later on.

@oweneades just sell your current rig to @Chandler_90 problem solved :P :D

it's not just 4v4 that will be an issue.

by removing revive abilities upon death, as well as only 1 person you can revive per round it's made the game a lot more tactical.

do you revive someone with a 0.6 k/d in your team or wait to see if the player with the 2.0 k/d dies and then revive them? what happens if you die before the 2.0 k/d player does? it's made it a lot more tactical. the average player will just see a dead team mate and revive them. or they will see 2 dead team mates and revive whoever is closer not taking their skill into account.

only 1 person can pick up the heavy ammo. so let's say you like to snipe but then you have someone with a 3.0 k/d in your team who also likes to snipe. you then effectively can no longer play the game how you want to play as your better off giving the guy with the 3.0 k/d the sniper ammo.

i can see it becoming a camp fest. let your best player get the heavy ammo then push for a pick. they have taken all the fun out of the crucible unless they have other game modes with completely different rules.
