That's my thoughts too but I'm actually seeing the good side of that - rather than being addicted to destiny for months I can obsess over it for 2-3 weeks then move on to the plethora of other great games coming out (and those I still have stacked up).

Ok so it appears it is basically just cosmetic stuff from the Prestige raid. Final step the Shotgun quest (beating prestige) grants a ornament.... Just.... what?! (Not that I even waste my power slot on the damn thing anyway..).
The changes are in line with Normal to Hard Modes from previous raids but the rewards just seem... disappointing.
EDIT: Also the mechanic changes to the Gauntlet may cause issues for anyone who is red/green colourblind.

Have any of the other day one players lost interest in it now? I know only log on to do the milestones and even then just the easy ones... I've got 3 characters at 302-303 and have been waiting for particular items to drop for ages but not getting the high enough level ones. 
And the constant stream of duplicates is just mind numbing. Not to mention getting to level 10 in ron banner and getting given an emblem and a warlock bond 10 power levels below my best one! :| That was kind of it for me at that point. I got the helmet and legs but then a constant stream of duplicate banner weapons that are all terrible.
I hope they fix the gun rolls and the vendors. When you get the same weapon with the same perks over and over it just turns into a chore to play and sort through them all. Hopefully the next DLC will fix some of the broken stuff and pull me back in. (Most importantly the stuff they broke that was fine.)
Don't get me wrong though, its a very good looking game and the music and atmosphere is great. But once you complete it and get into the higher power levels you run out of things worthwhile to do.

Yep, kinda lost interest a few weeks back. Still enjoy the raids but that's more to do with having a laugh with 5 other people than the game. Sometimes think we should all jump on Warframe etc because it would be the same banter.
Basically once you hit 300 and have origin story/nameless midnight, Mida, three different elemental auto rifles (any type really) and Merciless/raid rocket/raid sword then you don't need anything else (you got Coldheart with pre order). Everything else is junk.
I felt a little depressed after only grinding 3 packages on IB, got a headache and stopped lol. Not worth it is an understatement.
I'll still do raids and definitely look forward to the DLCs (already bought em) but after putting 1500-2000hrs into D1 I'm underwhelmed by D2. Also I think it will be next year before we see any real changes because the DLCs will be already set in stone.
PS can't wait to grind more packages for Halloween

Pretty much as Rooster says above. Completely lost interest now there is nothing to chase and all my characters are above 300 PL (which didn't take all that long).
Will still run the raid with you guys if we can get our schedules in line but besides that I would rather play something else.
There isn't anything inherently wrong with that of course, but I just can't believe that the issues experienced with D1 have essentially been repeated (somethings are better and others are worse..).

Daily population looks to be about 50% down according to Destiny tracker, not great considering D2 released less than six weeks ago.
Its baffling that after three years of development and telemetry from D1 that they couldn't see this coming and plan accordingly. They've really made a complete mess of certain aspects of the game.
Not only that, bungie and their stupid maintenance schedules don’t help either.

Hopefully D2 will get better with future DLC’s but at the moment, I’m at 299 and I really cant be arsed to do the raid at the moment. The hard mode raid just gives different armour but no level increases. So don’t see the point of doing it tbh. Harder mode raid and nothing to really increase the power level.

They have made it so casual and shallow it's like a completely different game from the final state of Destiny 1 which was great.
I hope they get their finger out and have a major makeover with the first DLC.

I've lost interest too. Got my titan to 300 and I'm just not feeling it. Only ranked up once in IB, that was only fun because I ran some matches with the guys from the clan, the banter is always a laugh. Solo was painful!

I'm the same as the last few posts. Got 3 characters around 297 and have no desire to play anymore. The loot is frankly awful, bar a handful of guns/armour. There's just no carrot to chase.
I can't even be bothered to log on to do the milestones due to constant rubbish/duplicate rewards that I then dismantle to hand in to the weaponsmith to get more pony that I dismantle to hand in to get more pony to dismantle...
It's basically turned into dismantling simulator 2017 at this point.
I had fun up to now, don't get me wrong, but there is zero incentive to keep me playing right now. It might even get traded in for Mario next Friday

I dont regret it, Ive had over a hundred hours in D2 since release and enjoyed pretty much all of it, the game-play is as great as it ever was. The end game has left a sour taste but I'm sure they will fix it, whether they needed to stray so far from what seemed to be working well in D1 to require such an overhaul is a different matter.
Not done the raid yet and did want to plat the game but, whilst I don't mind the token system I don't really like it either. Xur has been utterly pointless too.

I bought the deluxe version and no regrets despite being bored of the end game. I've had over 100 hours from it already and some great laughs with friends. The gunplay is still top notch and whilst I'm disappointed there isn't more content aimed at 280+ light I think it's still a great game.

You know what I wouldn't say no to blasting through all of the raids from D1 again... (specifically VOG of course).
EDIT: In terms of D2 I don't regret buying the Digital Deluxe as I enjoyed going through the story and doing all of the activities once. It is the end game which has left me wondering if ANYONE involved had played D1 post ROI.
