*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

Also.. Is it just me or is the raid pretty easy up until the actual end section itself?
Had very little trouble last night, except the jumping section lol

Got your invite last night but was discussing some things with my mates.

Me and my mates have made time for the Raid on Sat night. I want to go through it first time with them but obviously we need more people anyway.

There are 3 of us so need 3 more.

PS4 - 6-7pm start Sat night and will be on all evening. We will be drinking but I'm sure that won't affect us ;)

I'll sub to thread to make sure I see replies but if you want quicker response just msg me on PSN - I'm usually only on here during working hours

Hey everyone, just a heads up for gear wise:

To enter the raid you want to be at least level 25 with fully upgraded lvl 20 blue weapons (242 atk). You can clear everything up tothe last boss with this gear level, and you get quite a lot of chances at loot from various chests and activities. (Chest for entering door, loot for protecting spires before boss, loot from boss, 2 chests in gorgon maze).

To fight the last boss however, I would recommend lvl 27+ because there are a LOT of trash mobs that spawn constantly during the fight, and they are mostly lvl 27 yellows. If you are less than lvl 27 at this stage, it will be very difficult to deal with the sheer volume of trash mobs whilst dealing reduced dmg due to lvl difference.

For those unfamiliar with MMO's:
Raids in MMO's are often designed like this, it is known as a "progression raid" i.e. it is not designed to be cleared on the first attempt, but rather you aim to clear the easier boss (or bosses), farm it for a while to gear up, then progress to taking down the final boss over a period of several weeks/months.

RAID STRATEGY SPOILER

Moon-EU- this is well worth a watch, for our Thursday attempt.

Notable highlights being that ground slam attack with the relic that seems to wipe out the vex mobs? Also the use of the relic as a shield during the dps phase.

Jump -> R1 (or whatever your "shoot" button is bound to) does the ground slam attack.

It is also very good at breaking the red shields during the first boss fight, although it is difficult to do at first because when in the bubble you can't jump very high..!

No its jump > R2 (shoot) for the slam - use R1 (melee) to break shields as its a bit easier when you have multiple ones

Should have it done and dusted tomorrow as spent yesterday just getting back to the final boss. Got him down to 25% last time so should be easily done...

EDIT: Just realised you mentioned shoot button - didnt think people would have remapped controls!

ps3ud0

I've got 3 for a raid attempt on ps4 at 8:30 pm.

Looking for 3 other experienced raid players.. I've played it once but the other two are Virgins so to speak.

PSN is in sig :)

I will be doing the Raid content over the weekend. Don't tend to game much beyond 9.30pm on a weekday so i can go and relax for the remainder of the evening.

Can't join anyone else's Raids until my mates are able to join though otherwise I'll be locked out. As stated, we'll be playing on Saturday night - currently at 3 people so need another fireteam.

I think it's just a loot lockout rather than a content lockout. You can join multiple groups, you would just only receive loot the first time you complete each boss/encounter.

Ah right that's not so bad then - I've been holding out because playing with my mates is the priority and thought it was locked. If it's just loot then it doesn't really matter...although I'd still prefer to go through it for the first time with them anyway really.

Busy tonight so only Friday to wait then I can do it Sat night so not too long.

This!

I was extremely squishy while using the standard melee attack (R3). It looks like the shield block/smash with R2 is much more effective.

After we return from the timewarp, everyone should stand in the middle and hide under the shield. It never runs out due to the vengeance buff and stops anyone receiving damage. At approx 5 seconds left, we split up into the two groups again.

Tonight

On that middle platform there is a raised block to the left side that can apparently cause a glitch where, if the boss attacks hit that block, the splash damage can clip through the relic shield so I've seen a few reddit posts advising us make sure we gather as far to the right side of that middle platform as we can.

Also worth reminding that there's no character clipping while in a fireteam so we need to be careful to get into position and avoid moving about because we can potentially push eachother off the platform!

For the people who stay behind while the relic carrier+2 deal with the oracles it seems it is best to stay on the pillars in the centre of the sync plate, with one either side and the third helping as needed. That way you don't have explosive harpies potentially blowing up in your face and you don't risk going through the gate and blinding yourself like I managed to do a few times. It seems there is never any danger of harpies blowing up anyone if done right, but they still need eliminating.

For the first part of that boss(that we already cleared) it seems there were meant to be 2 guys stopping the minotaurs from sacrificing at the shrine and 2 going through the gate, you guys didn't make it easy on me :p

looks good. guy with the relic needs to solo the mobs when teleported. we weren't doing this last time, and those sniper mobs were one-shot killing us, which made taking out the oracles extremely difficult.

about that meet-up in the middle for dps on the boss, I need to throw down the Titan super power just behind the group. if you step in then out of the Titan AoE shield, you will get a MASSIVE dps boost from the "weapons of light" skill for a short duration, will last roughly the same amount of time as the "dps boss" stage.

p.s. BRING UR MACHINE GUNS BOYZ
