Yep, we got so far and then NeoReloaded had to leave so I spammed invites out in the hope we could get one more to join :D I really enjoy the team work aspect of raids and I can understand why they said it would be with friends only. It could get rather annoying with randoms that don't talk.

Being able to kill stuff really isnt the main attribute you need - being able to co-ordinate is probably more essential especially when you have to break into groups doing seperate tasks but depend on each other to hold up their side...

Ah, think we were doing the daily heroic at level 28 or one of the queens missions at the time. If you need me just preface a message and I can normally drop most things if Im on Destiny - I get a fair few blind fireteam invites so tend to ask first before Id join...

Well I wouldn't really consider co-ordination to even be a 'task' as it's a basic attribute anyone should have. It still just involves splitting up and killing things - it's the Destiny way afterall...But if you can't kill things effectively then that group is going to struggle. .


Still, when I've played with people from here it's been OK - just can't seem to get the timings right.

Guess I'm just frustrated that the most unique and interesting part of the game is so difficult to arrange. I'm going to be too busy to play much soon so really need to get on this ASAP :(
 
Perhaps you looked at this wrongly when you decided to put all your eggs with your friends who've let you down?

Its why I made the MP thread weeks early and why I made this raid thread to encourage people to group up not just as a pick-up game, but to get maybe a decent raid group that members that play at the same times, so doing the raid is easier to organise. I have to be honest I'm confused how people are going about trying to get a raid party, makes more sense to delineate when you can play rather than say 'anyone for a raid?'. Its not gonna be cleared in one evening unless you've done it all before...

You have to remember that its still the minority that's got upto raiding status (games only been out 3 weeks) so you might have to bide your time until there's more people around that want/can to do it.

And no the coordination you need is far more than a basic skill - its not for killing things - I think you need to get your head around that most things are easily killed once you have a suitable light level. Killing stuff isn't the hardest thing to do in the raid...

So...for a Raid on PS4 this week - what are peoples schedules?

I can do any evening this week from 7pm.
So if you can do evenings this week, let me know and I'll make a list of who is wanting to do it.

Not really, I just have a preference for playing with my friends as I've known them all my life so I'll always prioritise them. Unfortunately the fatal flaws in the game have stopped 3 of them from even playing it anymore.

I've played a few things with OCUK members though so will just move my attention towards setting up a Raiding party via this instead.

I understand what you're saying, but my thoughts are that the gameplay mechanics of Destiny are very basic and won't allow for a complex arrangement of tasks the team must carry out.

Saying that, the fact that it does require at least a basic understanding of what is happening and some teamwork and communication then that's what is specifically appealing about it and I'm looking forward to giving that a go.

The entire rest of the game is just 'go here, shoot these' - which I enjoy, don't get me wrong!

I had hoped the Strikes would require more teamwork if I'm honest. As it happens, everything can be solo'd without problem except the Nightfall strikes.
I think they could do more to make the boss fights unique and not just huge chunks of health. Even just basic ones like the Nexus fight at least requires different angles of attack. They should expand on that to create some more interesting experiences in the normal content - NOT just the Raids.
Hopefully they do for future updates.
 
Completely agree with you everyone thats still playing Destiny needs to get themselves into raids - it's why you are levelling up for. I wouldn't say VoG will blow your mind but it very much made me think 'OK the grind to this was worth it'.

Time with this game tends to blur so I can understand the frustration as I was getting annoyed not being able to raid for a few days. I'm not sure what the majority is getting out of Destiny if they aren't raiding, perhaps we need to encourage more to not ignore it (I think the lack of matchmaking automatically makes most just ignore it on here). Raiding is the thing to do in MMORPGs but it still is a hardcore thing to do/organise...

I'm sure as soon as people get to level 26 they'll start thinking about raiding, most in this thread no doubt already had it in their heads that they wanted to raid so had to get to level 26 ASAP...

I can happily be a sub when I can (most evenings) - I'm already in a raid party of about 10 people so generally doing it with them but would like to help fellow ocukers if I can...

Yeah hopefully can get something sorted out this week. I guess I've just been hitting it hard knowing that my schedule is about to get really clogged up pretty soon. My gaming time is going to be slashed considerably.

If I don't get the Raid done this week, then it's going to be harder to arrange.

So I guess I'll just make myself pretty flexible - I don't have any specific plans this week except the usual games of Squash some evenings but the only night that takes me past 7pm is Tuesday night. (I'll be busy until around 8pm then).

Most on my friends list seem to be Level 26+ now so I just think timing is the main issue.

But you're all on PSN by the looks of it ? :confused:
 
In all honesty, I think you'll struggle at 24 unless you've got to level 24 late and already have lots of good guns.

Give the opening section of vault of glass a go solo and see how you get on against the level 28 minotaur. There are 3 gates to control, if you can't even take the Minotaur out at the start of the first gate without being kicked off the gate, your wasting your time.

You have to split your team of 6 into 3 teams of 2 so you really won't get that much backup as its possible that all 3 teams can be attacked at once.
