*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

Anyone want to do some pvp (trials of osiris) or the new 3 man event (level 32) at about 8.15??

I'm only level 32 but normally pretty good at pvp and pve
 
Not a bad weekend, went 9-0 on trails, then got my 2nd character to 6-0 last night, had no time today so didn't get it too finish. The map is amazing, loot was meh got the AR which I never use and a shotgun that seems cool. What I've learnt after a few trail and error and some runs with TL_Venom is its all about timing and communication, push their dead bodies but don't be too agressive and it works out well. My team where just 1.3KD players so nothing amazing and we went 13-0.

Yup sounds good.

I can run on whichever character you prefer although for the 34 I will default to Pigtails (as she is 34).

Had a good weekend helping the Mrs replace her Hunter with another Warlock. She tried and tried to get along with the hunter class but her playstyle is just not suited to its strengths.. :p

Got to level 20 over two days whilst I ran along side her with Pigtails. One thing to watch out for is the higher level HoW targets which can appear whilst on patrol or in non darkness areas of missions. The level 28 captain from the Steppes to the Divide is a pain.

Considering her "casual" approach I don't think two 33 Warlocks and a 32 Titan are that bad... :D

I managed to grab another treasure key from chest farming but not my consumables are filled with somewhat useless special synth... :(

EDIT: Just remembered, we also ran Crota HM as a duo up to the Deathsinger. Blimey it felt sooooo easy compared to being level 32. The Ogre in the Abyss went down fast (to the point I was thinking it was glitched) and timing the swordbearer drop is a lot easier as he goes down to a mere glance in his direction (slight exaggeration but you get the idea... :p).

We ended up cheesing the bridge (as we were only there to try and get Abyss Defiant for the Mrs) but it would be straight forward to solo now by just running around (staying right as there are no Wizards that spawn there).

Coolio. Assuming the weekly reset is usual time I will have run at least 1 NF before we get started and *hopefully* got the last etheric I need to get my titan to 34.

Interesting to see what PoE rolls we get this week :)

Or any PoE Lvl 34/35?

Have the day off and will be helping mates later tonight.



Tried some more Osiris last night - with 2 mates who get K/D ratio of <0.3 and do not have any good, nor maxed weapons.
It's actually pretty easy most of the time as I basically just solo'd most teams we came up against - even the ones with all maxed Hand Cannons.

Mates just held back for the revives and rushed in to distract them once I got a kill or 2. Didn't win them all of course as if you hit a good team you need all 3 players contributing.

Still, gave me hope to rebound for my 9-0 attempts which I've got to 8-0 now both times :mad:
Both with different teammates halfway though .
So really need a team to try it with from start to finish next time - should be pretty easy to go 9-0 then. Most people suck at it.

Is there a vex boss to come? There's urrox (hive), servitor (fallen), valasaurus rex (cabal)....no vex? I reckon there is one still to roll.

Hope the NF is a nice easy one, not had phogoth in a while....solar would be nice :) Did they do the new strike for two weeks last time?

There is a Vex boss, Overmind Minotaur - looks like a gold gatelord.

By Valasaurus rex do you mean Valus Tugboat? Or is there another Cabal boss dude?
 
Never had the Minotaur, was it on the 35? Or just a random on the 28?

Valus whatever his name is, the shield-changing flying dude that gets munched by gjallarhorn :>

I'd be keen on some ToO next time round with some PvPers
 
I've only seen it on the 28 as a random end boss. It wasn't in the first week arena runs (32/34/35) thus I think it will be in this week on one of them.

Moved and acted just like the gatelord from "Eye of a Gatelord". Huge target and a straight forward fight with plenty of cover. Extra shield and potential AoE would cause issues though if you face him on the level 34..

Glad to hear you got your 9-0 buddy, sorry that we dropped that game. That was my one loss over about 35 games :mad: I hope they bring elimination into normal crucible, I love the gametype!

Edit: For PoE, I thought the 34 rotates each week. So this week we should have 4 different rounds and modifiers, then a different final boss in round 5.

Feel free to suggest date/time as I'm pretty flexible as I've made it my priority over the other content for now.

Plus, I will get more passage coins to make doubly sure we get 9-0.
Only have to go 6-1 with all 3 active which should be super easy. (7-1 if the first round is a loss)

Yep I am in. :)

Free Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon evenings :) I would suggest 7 onwards as I can't guarantee I will be free during the day.
