Gratz, we struck out on our run. Skolas is a lot tougher than I was expecting. Will be going again for sure.
For me none of the new exotic's look that great. But the sidearm would be my first choice followed by the sniper.

Blackhammer is your friend for this, one person stun locks him , while the other two whale on him with ghorn, or three black hammers is just as effective and he ends up further away from you than when you entered the area
I'm sure there was notes about the cipher, so if you do Soklas again and have space you should be guaranteed to get it.

But yeah these fallen lords as really susceptible to stun locking from snipers.
I have 365 Supremacy which would probably work just as well - it does for all the other bosses and has the very fast reload perk once mag is empty to keep the lock going.
If I have time I'll give it another crack then - the bounty is still showing as being redeemable to Variks though so I'm not sure what will happen there if I go and get it again.
I mean it's fairly easy anyway but it's still 45-60 mins of time and for weapons I'll probably never use so will see if I feel like bothering.
It's easy in the sense of DPS, but easy to mess up as 1 hit and you're done.

Doesn't have to be blackhammer, any 365 high impact sniper will do (E'spear is another good choice)

I would quite like to try the fight without an incoming damage burn. Getting OHK by the scorch cannon sucks, same with any burn on the adds' weapons. Specialist or something would be good as you get your Vex and sniper/shotty buffed.
Main skill required in these higher level PoEs is just dodging incoming fire. Need to practice the bunny hop style diagonal movement.

Glad you got him down, felt bad having to bail on you but was falling asleep.
Guys some direction please, I've levelled up to 24 and I seem to have stopped. The gear I'm getting is similar but not better. I haven't bought the download content, but I thought I would be able to get to 30 before buying this. Where am I going wrong? I'm doing all three strikes upto lvl 24
Your best bet to level up fast is to get the vendor gear. Doing the strike playlists and/or public event farming will get you vanguard marks which you can use to buy gear.
Crucible is actually a pretty good place to level up now as crucible marks drop 4-6 per match, and plenty of legendary weapons. Do your crucible bounties as well to get your rep up.

If you can get up to Lv29 then you can also get carried through the NF/weekly too which will help. I would get the DLC right away as IIRC you get some legendary gear which would get you too Lv27~.
You need to be doing the highest lvl strikes you can enter as you get better gear with higher light level. Vendor gear is the easiest way to level up fast. Then do VoG normal. You can be lvl 30+ in one week however you still have to put enough hours to get all marks etc.
You on PS4? I am level 30 now but still need better drops would be good to have someone of a similar level to play with.

Well, looks like I did get the Elder Cipher bounty, but my slots were full and now I have the bugged out version where you can't select anything and can't start it. Wasted 3 keys this week before I realised!
Pain in the rear but hey-ho, I'm sure they'll fix it at some point.

We gave it out best shot, it just wasn't meant to be. Up to Skolas I thought we did pretty good.
Despite not getting the kill I still enjoyed the runs we had which is the main thing.

Yeah that went well! I guess PoE is the more important at the moment. Happy to do more raids though, particularly as I need as many exotic drop points as possible
ToO will likely take the majority of the weekend but I suspect if it's just impossibly hard (i.e. SUPERGOODPROSNOSCRUBSALLOWED) I imagine a chilled raid break will be welcome.However my titan is now ready for PoE (needs another etheric light and a bazillion plasteel platings to get to 34). Oh and she doesn't even have a bubble yet vOv
