*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

Ill be around for more ToO, only PVP mode I find fun now as skill based match making never quiet works and I tend to just steam roll. Had some great matches with OweO over the weekend haha, lag was a pain, one Warlock just wouldn't die, it took most of my arc blade to kill him while he was damaging me.

Now that I have my beloved gally I'm a happy bunny. More than happy to both if need be. Just need a primary with a burn and I'll be set.

Also if any of u are around tomo for the weekly nightfall, I'll need to run it once on my hunter.
 
Only 7 wins this week, but at least got the Summoner and heavy boots. Some good games apart from the bloody cauldron rounds where we just couldn't get a strat going!

Shame we didn't pull off that comeback on the last game, so close!

Xbox Live Core Service problems for me the very second we started trying to play Trials so it went BADLY as I had no comms. Last night we couldn't even get on to try so no-go for me this week. Thanks Xbox!

Yeah, very frustrating. I thought it was going to be alright after we demolished that one team but nope. :(

It was a good run, glad to have got the weapon but so close on that last game :(

To to play some more cauldron, last night was the first time I'd played it in Trails so had no idea what to do :eek:
 
Yeah, I've not done much trials on there. You basically need to control the B point, it's very easy to defend and get revives in. Any doorway you go through into their you are so vulnerable from every direction, including vertical, lots of cover for revives too.

The clutch fireborn and melee chaos on 4-2 on the last game to claw it back when I was left standing with about 2 pixels health left was fun though, shame we dropped the 4-4 game by about the same margin!

I keep trying to use something other than Thorn/Hawkmoon so I'm not reliant on it when the patch drops but the balance is so shot at the moment it's not worth it, might as well just use the OP weapons until they're fixed.
 
If you have a messenger it is very good, I used it all last night and I was able to go toe to toe with Thorns, its only at close range where it starts to get a bit meh but I tend to just spray and move around to try avoid getting hit. Went 8-1 last night, last round we faced 3 Hunters all red bar that would just go invisible and shotgun, one of the most annoying matches I've played in a long time.
 
Still waiting for one, was hoping to get the 8 wins for a package but we just missed out. Hardest teams I find are 3x hunters with a good sniper and two blink shotgunners. We had one game on Widow's Court where the sniper dude just rambo'd the whole thing, the other two hardly did anything, he was unbelievably good, if he could see you, you were dead.
 
Yeah it was a good bit of fun last night. Shame we didn't get the 8 wins thanks to that last stupidly close match. The matches on Cauldron were painful as every time we had the crap spawn (the one further from "B") and every time we played a team that seemed to out counter our counter play.

The match we played on Pantheon against three blink strike shot gunners was funny though. Every time they rushed we just put them down. I think at one point I went through all three of them without taking any damage. Either I became "MLG God like" or they sucked (I think it is more the latter but I am going with the former) :p

I am looking forward to the weapon rebalancing to hopefully breath fresh life into the PVP "endgame". I love my 55-Allfate in normal Crucible but struggled with it in Trials. It is pretty beastly but the burn on Thorn inevitably gets me even if I get the kill first.
 
Thorn nerf doesn't seems too bad compared too LTW which I think will seriously drop off, I think it will still be near the stop of the best weapons in game, but lets see. Enjoying ToO overall, apart from some laggy games, I've almost got ever weapon now just need a solar jewel, and arc messenger. Also really want Exile gloves with HC, before the nerf, I've got some really solid Pulse Rifle ones for the next patch :D.

I'll need to find some trains tickets from up here that don't require a new mortgage

Grrrrrr :p

I picked up some Watchers gloves for Pigtails during our run last night. Quicker reload for HC's... already have a set like this but the new ones have a better overall roll.

Got some New Monarchy gloves with INT/DIS, pulse rifle reload and increased melee speed stashed :) Got the exil boots yesterday with DIS/STR and heavy ammo.

Had a blast running P&T on control earlier....not used it in PvP before, pretty beastly, invisibility + 3rd eye is awesome. Rapid double tap body kills too, me likey.

Dropped another Spare Change .25 too, I sharded the previous one, but now I'm thinking it's worth rolling. Same impact as Messenger, slightly better range. If I can roll third eye, headseeker, perfect balance it should be pretty awesome.

I'm sure Phog said something about after drinks at his penthouse in central London, and he's happy to put everyone up for the night. Really decent of the guy :)

From what I've heard, you absolutely have to have Counterbalance on Spare Change. By default it has an annoying recoil that pulls to the left, meaning the burst goes vertical and horizontal rather than just vertical with most other PRs. Counterbalance fixes that but it means you lose out on Headseeker.
