*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

I might dust off my Gheleon's demise tonight for a couple of games. Full auto and 3rd eye will be quite nice for Trials.

That and MIDA are worth a punt for a sniper flank play style.
 
Mida is really good, outside of tough matches where TLW > everything for me I use it. The speed is lovely. Also use LDR, revive sniping is a great on this map, if you snipe someone and their orb is clear I just wait, try snipe the person reviving, and the revived person then its an easy game.

Yeah you gotta have a res-kill capable sniper on Widow's Court. Ice Breaker's nice as you don't have to worry about special and the explodey-death goodness can prime people nearby. It's not good on close up maps with the relatively long scope but nice long sight lines like WC it's great.

Messenger obviously for those dirty Thorn users :) Both heavies are very exposed to supers so I'll be going void.
 
For heavy what I've found works almost all the time is just sending 1 decoy with a sniper, try and get 1 kill and just keep them busy, then the forces can rush in with rockets and get a quick kill.

Yea 8:30 works fine with me. I will be running my Hunter as well (if you hadn't guessed) not sure if that's a problem?

Looking forward to it :)
 
I much prefer having the whole team rush the other heavy spawn. You know exactly where the other team is going to be, so a couple of grenades and a few follow up shots usually wipes out the other team.

This works very well on the current map if you spawn up top. Having one or two people come down the the stairs, and the other one or two go through the broken building on the far left, then throw a couple of arc/fire bolt grenades on the heavy spawn. Only once did that fail for us when the other team hid behind the church walls.

If spawning on the lower side, rushing the opposite heavy was a complete failure every time as it's simply too far away to get to. The enemy have pretty clear site lines to your approach also, so it's much harder to get any grenades on them.

I actual found lower side better, I would wait until there was 2/3 seconds left and quickly get a snipe, I found most people stop looking if they don't see anything red towards the end and get ready for heavy which was the best time to pick off 1/2 too.

But overall I think just getting heavy is silly, with everyone running nades and horseshoes its just luck of the draw with heavy round.

We need to colour co-ordinate and confuse the enemy (having them laugh uncontrollably works as well..)

I did not know that. I shall be sure to bring it with me today. The only problem is running P&T as an exotic what to run as primary. I might use by Jewel along wing Oweo.

Phew, pretty tough on trials tonight, ran into quite a few people being carried, got murdered by some one man armies.

Still, got the 7 wins so Messengers for everyone!

Yeah it was quite frustrating tbh. Had a quick round just before going to bed with an unlevelled Messenger and loved it. Really odd as the fire style is similar to (but not identical to), Spare Change.25. I went positive with no game sound and running on virtual autopilot.

I think I am going to try and roll with two main setups to get "good" with them:

Long Range - Messenger / Ice Breaker / BTRD* or Exodus Plan

Short Range - Jewel / Lord of Wolves / BTRD* or Exodus Plan

Got 15 kills with LoW in a prior crucible game last night. It is a very high risk / reward weapon as you need to get stupidly close to get the kills but, you can mow through 3-4 enemies in quick succession due to the fire rate.

*BTRD for normal crucible

You will be find for VoG & CE NM (although you will be technically carried for the latter half of Crota - nothing to do with skill and everything to do with level)

PS4 or Xbone?

Messenger really comes into it's own when you get all the perks unlocked, it's like a laser beam with perfect balance. Hopscotch is actually a little more stable and faster RoF but the lower range is quite noticeable. With Messenger range is rarely an issue.

Sticking with P&T now as Ice Breaker is going to be pretty useless in PvP once the nerfbat swings. I don't mind the long scope...did a quick control game earlier on Pantheon and got hardscoped on the inside alleyway before the oppo arrived. 4 kills :D Love that 6 round mag and fast RoF, double tap bodyshots are so quick.
