Dexter

Getting bored of this now. Seasons 1/2 and 4 are some of the best TV I've ever seen

5 was **** and 6 isn't shaping up to be much more. The series holds NO interesting links whatever to the previous seasons (aside from his Son) and is episode by episode him stabbing a new body through the heart on his table.

What has happened to DEXTER!?

You may have jumped the gun a little there, no?

This season has picked up greatly with that last episode. Much better than the early stages of 5.

Also, Mos Def is awesome!

I realised in this episode that they love twists way too much in Dexter. I called the old guy turning on Dexter before it happened, because the basic rule of the show seems to be: If Dexter explains how he's going to kill somebody, that won't happen.

Mos Def is indeed awesome though.

I mentioned about the old guy too! Internet high five!

*spoiler*

She stole the hand!

*end of spoiler*

I also love Mos Def too.

season 4 finale had my jaw on the floor for a week!

Oh, sweet Mary, mother of **** you weren't joking were you?
What a finale to the season - I wasn't expecting him to come home and find that! My OH and I just had two days off work together and we watched pretty much all of season 4 and the first few of season 5, we're slowly working my way through it and thoroughly enjoying every minute of it!

Couple of questions I'd like to put to the OcUK collective though:

1) Is it just me or does Joey Quinn loose a hell of a lot of weight in between season 4 and season 5? I've no idea of the time scale (shooting schedule) between seasons but he seemed worryingly thin at the start of season5!

2) Debra Morgan, his sister (and ex wife IRL) though also worryingly thin, I wonder is it just me that finds her strangely attractive?

Haha, Season 4 Dexter has been my favourite so far! I was literally on the edge of my seat, yelling at the TV throughout the final episode!!

S3 was weakest for me, last few eps are decent. S1 was original and epic, S2 was very good but Lila(?) was annoying. S5 was average started weak but got better over time.

Quinn does seem to lose a lot of weight, I would think the timescale is a year between shoots or so? The seasons are filmed yearly and they surely can't spend more than a few months filming.

Debs is a skinny bird, not my type facially or body but I guess she isn't bad looking. I'm sure many men would not think twice before hanging out the back of it.

oh wow. the 3rd killing was disturbing, I actually felt a bit uncomfortable watching that.

4 episodes in and im already thinking its on a similar standard to 1 and 4.

Debs, i wouldnt say worringly thin just a slender frame. pretty face but not my preferable figure

looks like Dexter series six could be the last, Micheal C Hall wants $24 million for two more series and they are only prepared to give him $20m! Must be a hard life.

Story.

Actors need to stop being so greedy, the show only pulls 2.2 million viewers according to that article, how can he expect to be paid so much.

Compared to some youtube partners that are getting like 5-7 million views per week and their videos are very cheap to make and only take a day to film. Its no wonder shows are getting cancelled left, right and centre.

This season is turning out to be a good one. not disappointed at all with how the story is developing.

I do hope they come to some arrangement over hall, i think the series could benefit from another 2 seasons if this one finishes with the same quality it has started with. Dexter is one of the very few shows that even the weakest season its had is still very very good.

Yeah, good season so far. Some episodes are a bit slow due to the lack of mini-serial killers in episodes.

I also get the horrible feeling that it will become pro-religion soon.

Great point, hopefully it doesn't get cancelled. :(

"Only 2.2 million viewers" ... you forgot the ... "a record for a Dexter debut and Showtime’s best in more than a decade."

Just seen that Series 6 should be starting on FX in March. This is six months earlier than expected so a benefit to anyone that is not watching online.

Who saw last Sunday's episode?

SPOILER!!!

Also, can anyone tell me which episode where Harry finds out that Dexter is a serial killer and kills himself (and later finds out).

Why did they stop such an interesting idea as Dexter going full evil, so quickly?

I thought they were going to run with it for a least a few episodes, it seemed like a great idea.
