**DGM 27" LED IPS 2560x1440 ONLY £319.99 Inc. VAT (PRE-ORDER PRICE ONLY)!!**

Tricky mate really.....It looks small but if your going to keep noticing it.....also depends if you fixed that BIOS issue.........If that was only issue and it was perfect otherwise including back light bleed I might be leaning to keep.....

Not tested properly yet for backlight bleed. I'm working on the bios issue(!).

I'm also experimenting with having the taskbar on the right of the screen which will keep my eyes away from the bottom. Quite like it, there's lots of extra horizontal screen space now and feels like a novelty.

Thing is I'm a picky bugger and I will look for this blob all the time. It is right at the bottom though, not as bad as the ones on my dell. Arrrrrg.

Right, weird BIOS issue sorted! Bizarely it was something to do with not having my secondary dell monitor usb hub cable attached. No idea why this would make my comp boot into bios by default, but it's fixed now so at least that's something.

Backlight bleed on this monitor is shocking. Just run this basic youtuve black video test full screen

I see a cloudy mess of lighter patches, partcularly bad in the bottom right quarter, but it changes as I move around in my seat and move angle of view.

How common is this for this monitor, or is it the same for all IPS panels??? My Dell is flawless running the same test.

Am I on an endless road of problems with this monitor? Easier to send it back and forget I ever had it perhaps?

ok last update from me for a while on this. Sort of tempted to keep it but still not sure. Not totally sure about the cloudiness/ backlight issue yet, as on reading up it sounds like an IPS panel norm?
So only real issue is this tiny blob at the bottom, .......and.......... I'm sure I can see a very very slight flicker going on, like in the days of crt monitors but more subtle. I notice it in my peripheral vision sometimes but can't be sure. Refresh rate is set to 60hz in nvidia CP and general desktop options. Anyone else noticed any slight flicker on theirs?

Mines still in the box, hoping to check it out later tonight so will report back with how it is

Ok fella. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

The backlight bleed and clouding is really quite bad on mine. Been testing in some games. Also running at this super high res is a lot more stressful on my system than I thought it would be (even with a pair of 670's!) Fully modded and ENB'd skyrim now struggles in places with both cards pegging at 99% and dips below 60fps a lot.

I think with the issues this monitor has, and the extra stress in games, I might have to return it. Really thought 670 SLI would cope with this....

Right, I'm still going on this. The backlight bleed/ 'cloudiness' is now my new bugbear.

See images below. Both taken on same camera, exact same settings and exposure

What do you think? The dell is much more uniform.

Is this DGM monitor generally a total fu**ing turkey, or have I been incredibly unlucky here?

It looks like the Dell has better backlight uniformity. The DGM is a budget 1440p screen so I would expect it to be a bit hit and miss compared to the equivalent Dell priced at £400 +.

You could swap it for another but tbh it does not look too bad in my opinion. You could end up with a worse one.

wunkley whats the backlight bleed like if you turn the brightness down a bit, finers crossed just about to hook mine up

Just tried that. Had it down to 35-40. Makes a tiny difference but not enough. I've got a total stinker it would seem. It's not just 'backlight' edge bleed. It's entire quarters and sections of the panel as shown in my photo above.

well just tried mine and all started off so promising, very little backlight bleed, one stuck pixel but hardly noticeable, games looked fantastic then screen went wonkey there is now a line straight down the middle of the screen with a blue/green tint on the right side, ive tried displayport but could not get a signal, now feeling disapointed

Sorry to hear that old gamer. Yours sounds worse than mine. I'm too annoyed with it all now. I'm sending mine back its not worth the bother. I notice its gone back up to £410 now too!

Given the blob behind my panel, that's not a stuck, dead or hot pixel, where do I stand on sending this back. Obviously i could just return it under dsr but I have to pay postage for that no? if its got a fault/ defect like this blob though, where do I stand on getting a full refund without having to pay return post? I don't think I want to exchange and risk another.

Seriously these screens are great and even with slight backlight bleed they are fine ok just not in a dark room. The solution with the old DGM 24 I used to have was take the screen out and black tape the sides but I was never too fussed about that.

I used my 27" for a while but its now in the loft, not due to backlight bleed or dead pixels but I found it too slow for twitch gaming but that was me I think.

Well i decided to send it back and get a replacment as i liked it enough went it worked ok, hope they dont send me wunkleys as a exchange lol

Ha :D I doubt it, I haven't sent mine back yet. I'm still in 2 minds to be honest. The worst thing for me now is the backlight bleed / clouding I think. I'm going to give it a day or 2 and see how it is.

Does anyone else's screen suffer from the issue in this photo?

I.e the black edge to the panel is thicker on the left than the right.

The response to my thread in the customer service section was that they don't consider it fault and
Quite a lot of the DGMS and Hazros have this same issue

Not impressed.

The first DGM 27" I bought last year had really bad backlight bleed along the bottom of the screen and the top right corner. I decided to keep it because I was more worried about swapping it and ending up with a panel with dead pixels. As things turned out, the screen completely died after 5 months so I had to RMA it. That was last November. OcUK sent me a brand new replacement. No dead pixels and less backlight bleed. I was (and still am) very pleased with it.
