Di Matteo sacked

Yeah, getting them back there 2 years later was unbelievable considering the funds and where he got us to in his penultimate season. Pity off field matters took too much off his attention in his last one.

He was talking about Inter. And they've not exactly done too well (prior to the first few months of this season) since Benitez left.

Lets not forget what a massive fluke the CL was in the quarter/semi/final and he did worse in the league than AVB. It is horrible he is sacked, but was obvious he should never be hired in the first place.

Yeah, I can't say this comes as a complete shock. Chelsea have sacked plenty of good managers so why wouldn't they sack an average one. I do love how all the ex professionals are coming out of the woodwork to exclaim how shocked they are that the winning manager of the flukiest champions league campaign in history was sacked.

That chelsea team wouldn't win the CL in 1000 more tries, it was sheer luck over a large number of games coupled with their talismanic striker Drogba. Without him they would have been done and dusted well before the final.

Shock horror Chelsea sack another manager the club wont ever have repeated success imo if it sacks every manager that has a bad period, IMO they would have won allot more and the CL earlier if they stuck with Mourinho.

Rafa going there just lol half our fans will freak out like they did when Torress left, If he goes good luck to him i personally never want him back at LFC anyway.

With the players Chelsea have they should be doing allot better anyway even discounting the fact Torres hasnt worked out for them.

Which is what is happening now since Drogba left last season, in real danger of not qualifying...hopefully Juve can grab a win or a draw to knock Chelsea out of the CL.

Would be hilarious that 2 of the biggest spending teams in the EPL and possibly football could be out of the CL very soon ie City and Chelsea.

Won't somebody think of poor old Eden Hazard, he could have been playing for a proper european team if he hadnt been such a burke.

Regardless of what went on at Inter during and after Benitez's spell there, you can't claim he didn't do badly.

Those that try to make out as if he was blameless are just as ignorant as those that lay all the blame at his door.

I love it. When Benitez does well, he's a genius; when he does badly, it's someone else's fault.

What? He did crap in our last year due to his turning his head away from the on the pitch matters and he alienated Alonso over having to make the sacrafice of selling him and turned out he was one of our most influential players the next year.

He has many faults and has done poorly at times, but Inter was most certainly not his doing which is evident from the state of the team when he signed on the basis of being able to bring in new faces as the squad was spent and looked what happened

Dear god listening to SSN and some of the Chelsea fans that have emailed/texted in is cringeworthy :/

Some of their fans really are a deluded bunch.

Would'nt it be funny if juve lost and chelsea won.

Not as funny as Chelsea going out;).

But saying that, i still think Chelsea will go through. Wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if Juve roll over when they play Shaktar in the final group game.

I think it's quite clear you don't know anything about his Inter tenure.

I know the Inter hierarchy refused to invest in the team BUT Benitez still had a treble winning squad at his disposal and they didn't become crap overnight.

Baz sums it up well:

Regardless of what went on at Inter during and after Benitez's spell there, you can't claim he didn't do badly.

Agreed, I fully believe no manager is so bad that they are fully culpable for their side's failures. It's quite relevant to Chelsea as I think what partly contributed to RDM's sacking was he was too willing to take the flak for his players underperforming and that made him an easy fall guy.

What have they been saying?

From what i can remember, one compared Arsenal and Chelsea saying something along the lines of since RA has been at Chelsea, how many titles ie EPL and CL have Arsenal won:confused:.

Made me laugh because its a stupid retarded comparison as Arsenal havent got a rich sugar daddy as their owner, if Arsenal had someone like RA as the owner, im sure we would have won a lot more trophies. Its easy to win titles when you just throw money around and buy up the best players, not so easy when you work to a budget that Arsenal are/have been working on in the past few yrs.

That was one that stuck out the most for me. Like i said some really deluded Chelsea fans that were emailing/texting in etc.

I hate to say it, but I think the club got this sacking right.* The mistake was hiring RDM full time after the CL final, and he was always keeping the bench warm until RA gets his next big name manager.

Totally agree. He should never have had that job. CL win was very lucky and they have been found out this year.

Hilarious if they go for Benitez but I really can't be bothered listening to his nonsense in interviews again.

Sounds like the typical delusional football fans that i listen to everyday, i actually seen that comment on SSN and thought the exact same thing as u, all that happened was Chelsea snd City won the lottery with their owners.
