** Diablo 4 Thread **

Lots of good changes coming to the game before season 1 and some great changes for season 1 itself. According to Rod most players haven't finished the campaign yet, so while people often complain about the minority that are complaining, rest assured those people are responsible for the QoL you will have in S1 :)

Recap
  • Nightmare dungeon experience buff

Thank **** for that. There really is little incentive to do nightmare dungeons at the moment, the glyphs don't make a huge amount of difference at the moment for them to be worth grinding

Delusions of grandeur?

Pretty sure most of those changes would be happening anyway regardless of whether PoE Andy did 14 hours a day since release.

Not really, I mean casual andy will eventually experience the same issues those who play significant amounts of time do, the difference being those who do 14+ hours see more of the game and run into more of the potential issues long before anyone else does. It's an experience thing, just like in business someone with decades of experience is far more likely to know their **** than someone who read a book in university.

It was more to the point that you believe the changes are down to those hammering the game and then labelling it garbage on forums such as this one or Reddit.

It's a live service game and they'll have been aware almost immediately of player complaints regarding those issues, many of them aren't even new complaints. It's Blizzard, they often choose to experiment first, testing the player reaction to different game mechanics despite knowing players won't like them from previous experience. It doesn't take 14 hours a day Andy to know that spending 30–60 seconds running to each NM dungeon on a clunky mount is a bad idea.

The flawed activity XP at launch, for example, is a recurring issue. It happened with Diablo 3 as well, when players began farming specific content due to its superior efficiency. They also understood from their previous game that players appreciated instant access to "maps".

They’ve also been aware for years now of players complaining about gems taking up bag space. They’ve got good form for gatekeeping QoL improvements.

Games been out for 10 days, with public betas being at most 3 months ago so it's hardly YEARS!

They literally said during the dev stream that much of the feedback from the community, specially the streamers etc etc, and we know that 99.9% of people who post about issues in the game, are the vocal minority because most people don't care, the silent majority are irrelevant in most situations. The fact your replying and even talking about D4 on a public forum puts you in that minority group.

Are you forgetting the years of complaints in D3 about the same issue? Jesus, I’m well aware how long D4 has been out for.

I’m sure they do take onboard some feedback, but they’re suffering from severe amnesia if they weren’t already aware of most of those on the list.

They’ve still got a long way to go to make the end game endearing for players like yourself. It won’t be long after season 1 launches that the vocal minority are back to complaining there’s nothing to do after getting to end game content even quicker.

Recap
  • Nightmare dungeon experience buff
  • Direct teleportation for nightmare dungeons when you use a sigil
  • Necro Blighted corpse explosion visual effect fix for necro
  • Fog of war clear will carry over to season one and all alts
  • Altars will not have to be rediscovered on alts or for season
  • Renown from map clear and altars will carry over to seasons
  • Cap for veiled crystals and other materials increased
  • Removal of level requirement to open world boss caches
  • Druid loot table fixed, barbarian uniques removed from druid drops
  • Client patch for some specific optimization issues for PC
  • Gems are being moved to the materials tab so no longer take up stash space

Thanks!

Gems is a huge QOL improvement, sometimes running a single dungeon is multiple trips to town to empty bags. Why did gems ever take up so much space anyway, they were smaller in D3.

It’s actually not that big a deal in D4. I’m already at the point where I don’t even pick them up. In D3 you always needed them for other things like re-rolling gear and augmenting items.

Unless they give them more uses in D4 you can pretty much ignore them.

Was thinking about the server system. So if someone in clan says WB is up, but there's only a max of 8-10 players at spawn, does that mean that multiple WBs are actually spawning to cater for the 100s of players on the server, but you can only see the one available to you?

His point is you don't get better loot really for doing that. I've had the same sort of drops from tier 20 as tier 50 for example.

Thanks, totally misread what @razerbwfc said. Lots of mobs in NMs though and the farming potential is much greater than helltides being indoor. I mean my kick skill is kinda useless outside. I do get the frustration though, but if they start increasing the rewards for difficulty, all anyone will do end game is farm high-tier dungeons.

Feels like a good balance as I switch between the two. Would like to see a massive increase in difficulty with legion events and WBs, however. Every event I've been has been utter overkill. Only really do the legion during helltide for the cinder spam.

Be careful dumping them. Someone has datamined there’s several more gem levels in game to come, so will need a lot more to combine in future to bump up!

You’ll reset anyway if you play seasons.

Also with the new world tier to come, higher level ones are likely to drop so there’ll still be very little point hoarding the current ones.

Yes, you have :D
How do you generate enough rage though? - I struggle without that talent that would need double :)

I'm only level 44 WT2 though so maybe not got the items to generate it efficiently yet, and not hugely bothering with aspects till I hit the post 50 WT3 grind!
