** Diablo 4 Thread **

You can get some nightmare sigils by doing the Tree of Whispers activities ... the cache you get as a reward usually contains one or two.
I think I just had a run of bad luck. Seemed to sort itself out after I posted. The tree thing didn't give me any when I did it.

Got a few after my post. Tried tier 1 but still very easy. Got a 2 and 4 to try next.
Once you clear a lvl 3 sigil then the crafting mechanic opens up at the ocultist. you can scrap low level sigils for dust and craft higher ones.
You have now what happens when you "skip" them when you first get to WT3, your over leveled for the noob sigils. you want to be doing NMs between your lvl - (51 to 54) depending on how well you can clear them, max xp for mobs your level+3, max speed for mobs your lvl. dont do them at less than your lvl unless your just grinding out glyph xp and have no other sigils.
Warning some of the special conditions are horrible depending on your class.

I'd say sell them, they scrap like a normal lego for mats but sell for quite a lot more.
I've been salvaging everything - to upgrade your stuff later in the game you need some of the elements from the legendary and sacred items - plus I haven't seen much of a use for money in Diablo that I don't already gain from killing enemies.

Re-rolling affixes on gear is a massive part of min/maxing your build and it gets very expensive after a few rerolls.

There's a balance, for now I usually salvage everything after one run and then sell everything the next.

With regards to re-rolling gear I understand that there a few random rules that apply:

Re-roll gear cost is based on item sale value.
If you re-roll an item and pick no change, it makes subsequent re-roll attempts cheaper. If you select a stat to apply the cost ramps up quickly.
If you intend to apply a legendary aspect to an item, then you should re-roll it first as it will be cheaper in general.

yeah, wait till your rerolling stats, I spent 6 mill lastnight in about 5 mins and didnt get what i wanted. Gold matters later on.

My general rule is scrap bad legendary (pick up all) mats are important and fairly rare, sell bad yell (pick up acestrial only) Yellow mats are super common and drop from mobs, sell bad dupilcate uniques (pick up all), only give 1-2 lego mats and 1-2 yellow mats but sell for over 200k.

Gold definitely the limiting factor on re-rolls later on, I have about 500 forgotten souls or whatever the mat is from helltides but constantly run low on gold! It's a shame there is no way to build a gold farming set as I'd be OK with that as means to generate more, without this you're constrained by the rate at which you can sell entire inventories of rare/legendaries as the gold pickups from the floor are too low.

I'm happy to carry people through the capstones btw, I'm not in the clan but you can add me Brokkah#2761 and I can help out when I'm around.

all very true,
By the time your in your 80s hunting for better gear becomes very hard, and trying to force a extra % with re-rolling becomes more attractive.
Im still using a scared sword as a stat stick as I just havent found a "all the right stats" replacement.

I do think there are too many degrees of freedom in both the base items and the re-rolls.

WOW.....Just finishing up ACT 6 here ( at level 53 haha) Can't spoil anything but god damn that cut scene section, that's incredible.
I got to act 6 figured it wouldn't take long and then finished up at 2am on a work night, Didnt skip a single cut scene, its sure is a spectacle. Blizzard have always been able to make a cinematic.

I'm seriously impressed by how good it was. Next Level that for me, it's not often I get goosebumps watching a game cutscene...it just happened.

Yup for me the campaign was worth the price alone.

For my Barb now at 81 and spin for win.

Just some fine tuning and swaping aspects in and out as I progress through the paragon board.

Can’t wait for the Nightmare update.

Only have potions and whispering keys in my consumables area.
Edit
Tried the tier 4 capstone and smashed the normal mobs but the first elite 2 hit me when i missed a dodge. I'm level 56 and can't do any nightmare dungeons and the normal ones are ridiculously easy. What am I supposed to do?
Edit 2
Is it this easy for everyone:

Normal dungeons get easier, the challenge is only in Nightmare dungeons really.

I assume you mean the teleport in thing? I'm surprised they are doing that tbh, removes the Open world part of the game which is what will drive the cosmetic part of the game.
Short ride doesnt bother me, usually run sigils base don where we have 3-4 stacked up. run the same one repeated.

Improved XP also?

Agreed, I'm lvl 81 now ( almost 82 ) and my gear has been unchanged since ~ lvl 70. All but one item, an amulet, is ancestral. I'm looking for an amulet with + defensive skills , but compared to pre-lvl 50 that affix barely ever drops. There's something funky going on with the randomisation of certain items/affixes that RNG alone can't explain. We already know there was a bug with druids getting barbarian related drops. I'm certain there's a few other similar bugs in the late game relating to loot drops. Oh, and on that note, as far as the community is aware only one Harlequin Crest has dropped ! Just think how crazy that is given how many people are playing the game.

the lvl scaling is a little bit weird, ignoring the world tier limits (obviously you can nuke stuff thats 30 lvls below you) there are some huge power spikes related to paragon nodes and unlocking certain buffs which are very build dependant.

As an example i can nuke helltides with almost no risk of dying normally on WT4 but that only came once my initial hit numbers got a buff from paragon nodes/glyphs.
My only deaths are now from being hard CC'd and watching myself die while i cant do anything, but im playing a pen shot rogue build.

(No story spoilers) - Genuinely disappointed with this game, it's not "bad" but it's simply not up to the standards set by it's predecessors. Where to start, well first the character customization is inferior to the mobile game they released last year (how is that even possible?), secondly the graphics look really bland/muted, don't get me wrong the textures and objects look sharp but it just looks like half the colour palette is missing, those who played PC games in the late 90s/early 00s will remember you could toggle the colour depth between 16bit and 32bit, well this just looks like it's set to 16bit.

.....
Tbh having played Diablo 3 from the start, a lot of what was good about it wasn't released on day 1, it took a lot of patches for it to get to where it's at now.

I'm disappointed that there's no pets, but hopefully they implement that in a patch later down the line, although I'm happy it's not as cartoony as 3 and the setting and story seem way darker now, just like Diablo 1 and 2.
