** Diablo 4 Thread **

Just had an awesome run of luck in a hell tide session. Grouped up with some players and hit every chest, manage to get enough drops to replace most slots. After using some aspects I've been saving and upgrading important bits as much as so could my damage stat increased from 1300 before doing the helltide to 3900 after running helltide. Nearly a triple on damage and have a 60% buff to skill cast speed

The end game still feels weak to me. In diablo immortal we still had goals at the end game
Didn’t someone spend $100,000 on endgame loot and then couldn’t pvp anyone as he was so far beyond anyone else in power level and the tried to sue the dev? Not sure any game that requires you to sell some property to fund it is a shining example :P

I specifically mentioned the PVE endgame. The PvP was trash

Don't get too attached to the concept of higher damage/attack power rating being better ... it often isn't. Look for weapons with + vulnerable damage, crit chance, crit damage, attack speed and the main stat for your character class eg. intelligence for sorceror. Those will dictate how good or bad a weapon is ... a higher base DPS rating is just a bonus.

This, im 2900 power but ive been concentrating on Vunerable and crit stats/chance so my actual power level somewhat translates to something similar or higher tbh. I tested my build out, im level 55 and tried some level 70+ capstone mobs and can almost 1 shot them. Getting hold of certain items with specific stats is so important in this game.

The main issue im having right now is resource management and generation. Think i might need to replace red mist with something else that generates essence instead.

Grats, I just got to WT3 and tried one out for 15 mins solo. Look forward to getting a team on this and having your luck!

Made another druid as I "bricked" my other one (level 73), one of the consequences of personal loot, I couldnt get druid aspects on my barbarian, so just made another one.

Thought I'd give the WT3 capstone dungeon a go at level 61, knowing it was level 70 and the boss can be super rippy. He dropped faster than a $5 hookers knickers. Turns out tornado druids can be pretty damn strong, anyway did a few T21 nightmare dungeons and at level 63 I had the unique tempest roar drop, so I respecced to the storm wolf and am absolutely obliterating nightmare dungeons that are 10+ levels above me.

A higher base dmg is the root of your dmg calcs. Ap is misleading, sure, but dmg on weapon is a direct increase to almost every skill

Dmg = base(1+sum of additive)(1 + sum of multiplicative)

So you will hit diminishing returns on additives faster (paragons help there) but also the more multiplicative you stack, the less effective each addition to that pool becomes.

Base is base. Double it, you double your total damage.

Asmongold has quit Diablo 4 at level 81, and complaining there is nothing to do at end game
He's right. From about lvl 70 onwards the levelling process is very slow & tedious with little variety in content. And because of level scaling there is minimal sense of character progression beyond that point. Seasons will add some missing flavour, but there is a lot of work that needs to be done. It feels imcomplete.

I agree there isn't anything to do that he hasn't already been doing for the past 31+ levels. The leveling curve needs major adjustment, he's played for well over 100 hour's only level 81. I think personally you should be able to get to level 90-95 within 10-20 hours, then the last few levels to 100 should take 2-3-4 times that to achieve. Effectively meaning a solo player can get to 100 within about 30-40 hours of efficient gameplay. As it stands though, there isn't anything to do besides grind out 100 as the end game content is lack luster, there needs to be a 5th tier with new loot for 90+ or even 100 to give a reason to grind it out.

People complaining that a game only has well over 100 hours worth of gameplay on release makes me laugh, even if there was a 1000 people still wouldn't be happy :D

I think the issue many are finding is that its not necessarily a fun 100+ hours. It's pretty damn tedious after level 60+, fyi Elden Ring had over 300 hours for me personally and didn't feel tedious at all.

Yet you're still going back to D4 and levelling new characters. You must be well over 100 hours now?

I'm at 71 now on my Sorc and it hasn't felt tedious at all. I've not put this many hours into a game so soon after release in years, so for me, it's way better value than a lot of the crap we've seen released in the last few years.

I think some people came into it with crazy expectations that there was going to be some fully fleshed-out end game that rivals PoE, which is aimed at a much more niche section of the ARPG market.

Nearly 200 (189 according to AMD metrics), and yes I am, doesn't mean I don't find aspects of the game tedious or boring. I certainly didn't expect to be anywhere near PoE levels of end game, didn't think it would be this boring either though.

The only reason I am still messing about with it is think up crazy build ideas and see if they work, but most of the builds I have stopped mid 70s because its so damn tedious to grind out levels once you hit the 70s.

71 good going, the following 29 levels will be exactly the same as the previous 71 without the campaign story.
