** Diablo 4 Thread **

Let me pause the damn game! :p

*Knock on the dooor* Come back, dead.
*Phone rings* Come back, dead.
*Family needs me for something* Come back, dead.

Like in D3, let me choose a "Private game" option. Let me CHOOSE how I want to play MY game.
There is nothing, absolutely nothing, from my experience with this game since early access that has convinced me that forced multiplayer is a benefit. NOTHING. It's simply been a hindrance to how I want to play, and makes my game lag and my rubberband. That's not to say I'd only ever play private, I wouldn't. But come on... :(

This! i was busting for the loo last night. Exited a dungeon, could i open a gate to town? got swamped by several waves of mobs. Cleared them then a helltide popped on top of me, had to clear a few more waves! the turtle was showing its head at the end, i can tell you!

  • Not enough viable builds for each class. This is something they really need to improve, I know they spoke of this in the build-up to release that their goal is to make any build viable right up to late late game, but as it stands it's simply not. Once you hit 50+, your decisions determine what you can and can't do going forward to lvl 100. I'd love to just roll a Hydra-Meteor build Sorc, but as of right now, it's simply not as good as Ice Shards.

  • Which brings me to build experimentation, its just way too difficult unless you no-life the game and have loads of money to reroll and farm new gear sets. My favourite part of playing D3 was seeing an Ancestral Legendary drop with a huge power % increase in a skill, like Arcane Orb or something, and seeing myself able to clear GRs that were once impossible for me. That doesn't seem to happen in D4, it's just too much money to reroll, and extremely time-consuming.

100% this, the problem is that unless you invest in a lot of trail and error the new unique item can be underpowered from your current build, and not all classes are equal Rogue just feels meh at level 85. from what i understand most of it is based on the paragon board but also the amount of crit/vulnerable damage you do which is all fine and dandy but the drops will give you high crit damage but rubbish armour or lower resistance. the amount of time you can get 1 shot from lightning lance on higher tiers is really punishing.

i think most people feel that there is not really any real progression other than harder scaling on the same kind of mobs.

The problem is, when you're porting you can be interrupted if a mob hits you lol. So you cant just port and run off to the loo! Have to watch the whole animation play out before you can go!

I have been looking at sites recently at the paragon boards but noticed that the area marked in red where you need to build up stats for the glyphs seems wider on the site and covers more area and the 1 in game is smaller covering less of the board.

Is this due to changes since the websites have been updated or have I missed something to do in game?

No, this is when you level up your Glyth upto level 15 so it increases its range to include other nodes, usually magic or rare nodes. It's abit of a grind to get there too.

Ahh ok, that makes sense.

I've only done a few nm dungeons and levelled up 1 of then once.

First few levels is a breeze, especially if you do a level 30+ tier NM dungeon. Then it slows right down and starts to drag lol. I'm just concentrating on levelling the ones i am going to use to 15 first so i can get the most out of them, this in turn also gives me xp so i can get paragon points to unlock more nodes and boards. That's the only thing im doing right now and the odd helltide for the chance of unique loot to drop.

As you upgrade glyphs their radius increases

I've definitely had my monies worth, I cant grumble about that and its tided me over nicely through the past several weeks, I'll be on a bit of a break from it for a little while because Remnant 2 comes out in a couple of weeks and pretty much all of August will be solid Baldurs Gate 3 and then all of September may well be solid Starfield, which takes me to October and Cities Skyline 2 , lots of really big , multiple dozens of hours, titles coming up :)

Season1 story has 7 chapters, can only be played with new level 1 character

But new legendary, abilities are coming to eternal realm too. 7 new aspects and 6 new uniques as well.

New random special elite can spawn in world, drops a new type of gem called caged heart, there are 32 variants of the gem and each gem is as powerful as a legendary piece of gear. It sounds you can slot one gem into each piece of gear that takes gems - blizzard themselves say this will allow people to make stupidly overpowered builds but they will balance it later

Helltide chests will be buffed so players can farm certain uniques from them if they want

Rewards for completing nightmare dungeons will be changed

New world boss called Vashan the Consumed

All reknown, fog of war and altars of Lilith carry over - so your new character will start with a major stat boost, 5 extra skill points and the full map unlocked if you have completed all of this already on another character

Pathetic content
Its got its pros and its cons. I've seen better seasonal content in games and I've seen worse seasonal content in games. I'll dip my toe in but with Remnant 2 on the 25th July, Baldurs Gate 3 at the start of August, Shadow Gambit on Aug 17th, Starfield at the start of Sept and then Cities 2 and Lamplighters League in Oct, I'm not in a position to indulge thousands of hours into the seasons. Too much to play :D

Fair

Good thing is if you bought deluxe/ult and don’t want to use the battlepass because you’re burned out or not impressed with the season, you don’t have to activate it.

I’m probably gonna skip the activation this season myself. Can’t see me putting the hours in here.
