** Diablo 4 Thread **

Did my first NM dungeon last night. Anyone know the smallest one to farm? The one I did took ages.
What level was the nm dungeon?

From what I read you take your current level, for example 64 take away 51 and this is the nm dungeon you should start with. so in this example you would be doing level 13

The uniques in this game make no sense 99% of people will never see one they want and if they do will only use it briefly until a new season starts and it all resets. They need to add a way to get them that involves some kind of skill challenge with a pity system so people who cant quite manage the challange still get it eventually.

How do you check the level? When I clicked on the item to activate a nm dungeon it just said tier 1. I'm level 61

I have concerns the reason why it’s setup that you need to farm 600,000 uniques before an ultra rare will drop is so that Blizzard can sell you a drop that temporily increases the ultra rare drop rate. No doubt some micro transactions on the horizon to increase drop rates which in Blizzard logic are not pay to win.

I don't actually have an issue with some ultra rare items being in game. The real problem is itemisation in general is crap, with nothing to bridge the gap between yellow rares / normal legendaries and the uber-uniques. Standard uniques, for the most part, are trash and there aren't many. There needs to be dozens of them ... with interesting, game changing affixes. Some set items wouldn't go amiss either.

Someone worked out that if you played 10 hours per day, it would take you 600 years to find an uber-rare unique.

600 years at greater than full time job hours.

Madness, that kind of system is no good, especially where you can't trade up incrementally like you could with D2. Even if you could trade up, not enough dropping for people to have any liquidity for trading them back to you.

Game needs a way of converting lots of unwanted uniques into the rare ones, so you have something to work towards.

Yup, at the moment Blizz are offering players a stick ... but without a carrot on the end of it.

I actually quite liked the concept in D2 where you could never find a rare item but you could trade your way up to them.

Without trading though they need to make this kind of thing work in the concept of no trading.

Couple that with seasons being fairly short, even if you find a Shako or w/e now, you'll probably not be using it next season.

Think I've hit the 'wall'.. can't find upgrades, rerolling what I have is costing millions a time, exp levels feel like such a grind, I'm only 77 too.

Might take a break until the season now. Don't wanna go in to it already burned out :D

I have a free code for this game. I got it with the 4080 card. It expires today. You have to own 40 series card though. 7SCEU9ZUh1ZBGutMa8rNxx5w if anyone gets it can you Let me know.

It was a stupid decision to make the super-rare uniques so scarce when much more powerful items will be added in future updates.

Shako is obviously pretty crazy and will be hard to beat, but one or two of the others aren't even that powerful. The fact that you have to kill lvl 85+ monsters for them to drop means that very few players will have a chance to get them before S1 anyway.

Just Blizz gatekeeping things again for whatever reason...

That's a nice gesture but as this section of the forum is public it'll probably get scraped in seconds by someone who isn't even a member.

I've hit a bit of a wall with D4, admittedly I've played it a lot, so got my play time out of it. But I was really hoping it would be my "game for the foreseeable future" sort of thing but it's just not hitting quite right. The level scaling has plus points but overall not good for the game IMO. This is especially prevalent when you realise it's barely an online game, the world is mostly dead in terms of other players, which makes it being perpetually online feel a little pointless. Gear isn't satisfying to collect, currencies are mostly pointless, key QoL features are missing, the skills trees are mostly just passive point sinks and the skills feel hugely limited, almost as if they were designed around console only. I really think that just being able to have 1 or 2 additional skill slots would make a huge difference. Would be cool if e.g. a rogue got a trap skill for free, necros could summon for free without wasting a slot etc etc (just quick examples, not thought through anymore than that).

Had a lot of fun, absolutely love the art style/graphics, enjoyed the HC experience (other than disconnects etc risking alt death) but not something I can put the sorts of hours/extended gameplay for years like D2.

I've played every Blizz game since I was a kid, very fond memories. I was so overly excited for D4 that it was a little embarrassing as an adult haha! It's just not quite hit the mark.

I have taken a bit of a back seat with the game as well but I will be playing season 1 on the 20th.

I guess its because I am kinda stuck\bored of the sorc and would like to try another class but with S1 round the corner Im saving it for that rather than starting another character now.

1 thing I am missing lots is playing in groups, D3 had this and was great and levelling up solo all the time has a impact on the XP as you get more in groups, I played one nm with a friend and enjoyed it more than doing it solo and with no way of joining\searching for groups your left on your own unless you have friends on your friends list that you can invite
