Diane Abbott suspended as Labour MP after racism letter

There is literally nobody, anywhere near prominent roles in the UK government/opposition or the in the Scottish government (and my understanding from Welsh friends is that the Welsh assembly is the same), that is remotely statemen like. In all my years it's never been this bad and the rot has really set in in the last 10 years or so. For all his failings the likes of Blair and even Cameron at least had some credibilty to them.
I think thats intentional though, to feel more "relatable" to the electorate.

Lol those two kicked it all off.

This is exactly how I feel and I don't know who to vote for anymore.

Political beliefs aside I can't honestly say I have an ounce of respect or belief in any of them. They're too busy trying to look good on social media or win a personality contest. I know politics has always been like this, but now it's turbo charged to an extent that even if they did come in wanting to do a good job, their efforts are sapped trying to do the overwhelmingly popular thing, rather than the right thing. Though I say that knowing that the "the right thing" is often putting something off for 3-4 years to make it someone elses problem.

The one ounce of sympathy I have is that they get dog piled for even making the slightest slip of judgement. But then you have some politicians who seem to be able to rise above that, and can screw things up over and over again / show utter disdain for the people they are supposed to represent, yet remain where they are (or creep back in under the radar later when the news has moved on to something else).

I find it quite disheartening. I wish someone honest could come through without being screwed over by the rest.

They're many more like her in the Labour party, most of them are smart enough NOT to say these things publicly, but most of them are supporters of race theory, CRT and all that nonsense.

She sued (and won) against vote.eu when they claimed she was a grooming gang apologist.

She retweeted something by mistake for 8 minutes and deleted it.

She's been supporting victims of grooming gangs for years.

She also liked it as well, which didn't really help her case at the time.
1 misclick is careless. 2 is stupid or intentional.

see edit. 2 tabs open.
on topic she was dead wrong about the Jews...... but the travellers.... any ism against them is not about race and to be perfectly honest their issues are well earned imo (I have had more experience of them than I would wish to in younger years)

Are you saying you agree with her then? Apart from the bit with the jews?

I didn't say that. she should have been fired a long time ago for multiple reasons.....

but I doubt you would agree with me here anyway because I fundamentally disagree with a foundation of that article in the guardian as well unless I am reading it wrong. (possible as glance read it on my phone sitting in the rain)
black / brown / Jewish or traveller it seems to me it is saying it's possible to be racist against those people because they are minorities and not "in power" but not possible to be racist towards other white people because they are the majority and have all the power.... this to me is BS and if that is the official definition of racism then I disagree with it as well (which does not mean I support DA).

one of my old house mates was 1st generation British Indian (or is it 2nd generation.... her parents migrated here but she was born here). her parents were some of the most racist people I have ever met. I had to lie when they visited and state is was visiting because if they thought their daughter was living with a white housemate they would quite possibly cut all ties with her.
but that isn't racist?
I have met plenty of racist people ...... some white but at least as many Indian or black folk.
