With things like windows vista around the corner it doesn't like the older generation so yeh best get your performance or suffer down the line.

I read of even the cheap C2D chips being o/clocked to 3Gig and beyond.. I'd just like a smaller, safe overclock to 2.5 say. do you think a complete newb with the guide and help from this fine forum can achieve this? And reading the guide it looks like a Decent heatsink/fan + some good thermal paste is really all that's needed?
