thats the biggest problem

console owners get taken for mugs and either dont know or care
it ruins stuff for the people who actually have a clue

4-5 years ago who in their right mind would pay the prices they charge for map packs or other pitiful "DLC" content

Last time I looked you dont need to have the new maps or DLC and DLC is new to consoles. This gen only.

The link to read about unbanning the Xbox 360 is here: http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Microsoft-Xbox-Consoles-Fix-Banned,news-5111.html

As for MW2 cracked servers you'd need to sign up to www.teknogods.com forum and the information is all on there.

So you need a fresh console ID and how will you get hold of one of those.

here's what the steam mw2 boycott group are playing

Why am I not surprised. Knew it as all talk :D

Yesterday at work, I watched a screaming child kick off because his mum wouldnt let him have a sonic cuddly toy. This went on for about half an hour, the child screaming so loudly and violently that his little red face was THAT close to just vomiting with rage and anger...i dont know if anyone has ever witnessed a child get to this point....but its a sight to behold. Anyway, the mum relented and gave him the sonic toy...he held it and the hurled it too the floor, his screaming now stopped he simply stood there with his little arms folded with a proper munk on...simply now yelling "NO". The mum shrugged and put the sonic toy back on the shelf he then screamed again....much louder this time, grabbed the sonic toy and clutched it to his chest...."I WANT IT!!!! WAHHHHHH"...I am almost certain everyone in the shop rolled there eyes at the same time.

But my point is, this is almost a perfect analogy for how some gamers have acted with Mordern Warfare 2 and its "boycott", And also for whatever its worth, I agree with the fella from IW about "the gnashing of teeth etc" comment. People have acted like ungrateful brats and have achieved NOTHING...well done.

Thats a very simplistic view of events. A better analogy is a parent who slaps the child and stands there saying 'why you crying'.
I think people who havent had the willpower to stand by their principles have damaged the effect of the boycott, but they are kids after all. Like I said previously its like telling kids not to eat candy because its bad for their teeth. What do they care?

Anyway a realistic assessment of the effects can only be made at the end of 2009 if IW dont hit their 11-13 million sales figures. Also, the success (or not) of the next MOH game, announced in the middle of the fuss and 'set in the modern era', may be a worthy successor and there are other games, such as Bad Company, willing to vie for the MW crowd - and they wont dare dump dedi servers. Plus how many smaller companies, not having the huge sales figures of IW and reliant on the PC for a chunk of their sales figures will now consider not having dedi servers? Finally we have yet to see whether MW2 MP is a success, I certainly think that hacking could be a problem, requiring them to speed up the updates.

Certainly the fuss may have achieved quite a lot, but we wont know for sure until next year. Your pronouncement is very premature.

^^^ I think we can all agree that the majority of the pc community are bunch of whiners.. especially if they don't get their way or feel their games are being "consolized."

Why do some pc gamers think they deserve better than what console gamers are getting anyway?

Please. We all know that pc gamers are known to getting their panties in a twist if they don't like something in a game. We complain about every game that comes out these days and theres always a petition going around.

So far, MW2 online works. Its not perfect but either is MW1 MP.

Your personal preference to low on-line features is not what most PC gamers expect or have been used to over the decades but if you happy with it then fine but don't expect everyone else to be.

PC gaming has been changing for years. It was just a matter of time before there was little to no difference between cross platform games.

Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have dedicated servers.. but MW2 is still a great game online... and at the end of the day, its just a game. There are far more important things to worry about in life.

Get over it.

The PC is capable of a lot more than consoles, thats kind of the point. MW1 MP is a lot better than MW2 size wise and organisation as well as latency wise, again kind of the point.

there will always be a difference, its just this game that is trying to blur the lines, to predicatble effect. The simple fact of responsiveness precludes true cross platform gaming unless you can persuade PC players to only use pads. Theres a lot of discussion about models of game selling economics coming out of this which is going to have a large impact on how you play (and more importantly pay) in the future. Probably worth making your opinion known. And to be honest this is a forum about games, hence the title, what were you expecting to be discussed here

Great? It's good but it could have been a lot better.

Being able to play 25 vs 25 on CoD4 is great fun on the right map. MW2 has removed that element.

Not everyone has to be getting their panties in a twist, just because they comment negatively about something. It's all too easy to level that comment at someone that is just airing a genuine opinion that the game could have been much better.

You tell everyone that there are more important things to worry about in life and that we should all get over it, perhaps you should follow your own advice?
You think we're sad for getting worked up over a game yeah? What does that make you considering you're getting worked up over the fact we're getting worked up over the game.

The difference between should be because the Console is becoming more capable of the things that the PC has been doing for years, not that the PC is being brought down to what the Console is capable of. That is simply backwards & not progression but regression.
