Of course I can. I can see quite clearly that people think that developers have a sense of duty to maintain certain standards. However, they don't. At all. They owe you nothing. Nada. Zip.

The idea is to move on and find something else. If a shop didn't sell what I wanted, or they changed their stock to an inferior version, I won't buy it. I'd go elsewhere.

Of course theres more to life, but it doesnt mean I cant get ****ed off when a games company makes an horrendous decision which goes against everything that is great on pc multiplayer gaming.

Jeez, you could come out with that "theres more to life" bs for everything that people moan about.
 
left4dead boycott and this boycott is not even on the same scale. comparing them is silly.

i understand some who have only played since cod 4 mw and it might not seem to bad but for a lot of vets who played ever since the first day of the fist cod release like me its a taking the mickey .

you help make the series great and this is the response you get. i personally know a lot of modders and people who have done stuff that has gone into some of these games. if you ask any of them there disgusted at the treatment of this series .

many clans were and are in waiting for this game to bring life to a dead cod scene.now it has been killed before its even out.thanks to numptys who just want to milk in monies. now thousands of clans will close just cause someone deemed these to be good ideas when basically almost all in pc comunity disagree.

I am certain that ultimately, IW.net will become a hub for their DLC.

Infinity Ward have slipped up.

I cannot believe of all people, we as a community are cheering on E.A, their PR machine will surely seize this opportunity?

I think this will lead to many other games gaining new players and MAYBE a resurgance of BF2?
 
Well at least one good thing has come out of this. It does not look like I will ever need to upgrade my PC again. At least until the next next gen consoles come out. By then I think I will be sick of console game, even more so than now.

i signed too, if i was still in the pc scene i would no doubt be massively p'd off

thats a lot of siggs, does that not equate to a loss of like 4 million if every signee didnt get the game

nah its nothing im sorry to say if it hits a million its still a drop in the ocean really.

heres why

say they sold 5 million copies of cod mw when it came out more than likely same amount on pc for this when released. if they say lose max 1 million sales through this (not that many will hold true) they lose 1 million

but....

with there new stupid iw.net in place they will bring out at least three map packs which you WILL have to pay for at most likely a tenner a map pack. then a lot less pirates will pirate the game cause of this new iw net and being no cracked servers. so they will actually gain sales that way.

so if you combine the sales of the game so say 4 million plus the map pack sales (normally over a million each map pack) and the extra sales of people who dont bother to pirate to play online they will actually be ahead whether they lose 1 million sales or not.

this is why i think were doomed to not get the dedis we want as theres just to damn money to be made with this new structure. once in play they can charge for popular mods like steam and its only a matter of time before its done. after all the tripe is spun the simple fact is they are maximising the money income from there product so whatever is best way to get a extra dollar they gunna do it.

Not buying this.

I think this has been a disaster from IW point of view in regards to PC sales.

It will still probably do very well on the console's, and it feels very much this game has been designed for the console players.

The PC gaming community made IW, and this is how they show us their love.
 
Me and my brothers friend and his brotherinlaws friends and his fatherinlaws friends and there brothers and grandsons friends have cansled there preorders.

its a shame tbh....ive been waiting for a decent fps(online mp) for a couple of years now and nothing has quite done it for me.

i do own both consoles but they are so **** in comparison when it comes to fps games...didnt have it on pre-order and doesnt look like i will be buying it unless things change.
 
yes people play on the servers but only cause theres nothing else much to play.

most of the leagues are pretty dead or quiet. everyone was waiting for this to wake everything up.

a lot of very big clans i know were hoping that this would install the life back into cod and make it fresh again but its a no goer before its even started.


cod waw has always been basically a dodo ever since launch .

so now this game has flopped people will start going wow or some other mmo to search for that something new.
 
IW dont give a **** about the pc side of things by the looks of it, Dont get me wrong i used to play cod 4 on the xbox playing clan match's etc but it just doesnt even come close to the pc. :rolleyes::mad:
 
I am close to giving up on PC gaming there is literally nothing on the horizon that interests me now. Don't know why everyone's getting excited about BC2 the first one was terrible!

May as well buy COD on the Xbox as that's where most of my mates will be, can't see me hooking up with my PC COD buddies on the new one. I'm sure that will keep me entertained until FFXIII comes out.

At least I've saved myself £300 by not upgrading my GFX card, that can go towards a new TV for the Xbox. :)

I agree, however without a server broswer its likely a lot of the matchmaking servers will kick people during a standard map rotation if they don't have the dlc. It makes dlc more of a convenience than an option.
 
the link is evident because they can force you to pay it, they are controlling who can and cant play online. Eventually they will move to charging for patches. It wont stop at DLC.

In a dedicated server environment if they charged for maps etc etc and no-one wanted them it wouldn't make any difference. With IWnet if you don't buy it they could potentially simply not allow you to play the MP game. And that is where they are heading
