Host can't kick in this system, they're not really a real "host" as such.
You chose the gametype from a list before matchmaking. You chose a gametype and the game instantly starts with default settings and map rotation that cannot be changed. The "host" doesn't do anything except invisibly host the game, most of the time you don't even know if you are the host.
The private hosting system is not incorporated into the matchmaking in any way. Privately hosted games can only be entered by invitation from the host.
Yeah, I agree that is the major downside, it's not really possible. Via the friend list system you can invite people to a "party" though, and matchmaking always puts you in the same game.

What if I want to play as part of a community, on a server that gets a lot of regular players?
