Theres always a point buying them, but only buying them to run the Dx10 games that are out then, and also Dx9 as they'll be faster than current cards, just like buying 8800's last November, everyone was buying them for Dx9, as they are the fastest Dx9 cards you can get, there was no point buying them for Dx10 when Dx10 wasn't released till January, and the first game to use Dx10 was 9 months away so you could finally get to use it.

after getting used to playing games on max settings and smooth fps, ill get annoyed if i cant play any new games like that. Ill just put it on the shelf and wait until i can upgrade my components to play it how i want. Luckily theres no games out that has made me do that yet
