Dirt Rally 2.0

Well I have a T300 GTE for a start. I also am the author of one of the guides on steam that enhances the tame FFB by tweaking XML values.

I've spent countless hours tweaking and problem solving issues. Read the forums, read the discord. £64.00 for a game that's not ready. Lol.

I'm fine with it, just annoyed. Another game rushed and I'll add it to the collection. When it's sorted in 4 months time and half the cost I may buy it again.

Great news that a lot are people are enjoying it. Doesn't sway from the fact that the game is unfinished... In typical codemasters fashion.

I just use the clutch at the start or when necessary , l favour left foot-braking/right foot-accelerator.

Same here. I want to get better at H&T though. It seems like the more correct way in a car with a H-pattern box. It'll take some getting used to but looks like fun (Jimmy Broadbent is pretty good at it, fair play).

I’m enjoying it, Been following this and decided to get it, downloaded it last night and played it for a few hours today, I think its better than the first one but I only got that last week. I’m just playing on the Xbox controller but still......
Started at default difficulty but couldn’t win so moved down a bit then slowly it went back up, one slip up in a section can cost you the race.

I'm gutted, I bought this last night... Completed the 'career' last night. Only 5 locations for rally? Each consisting of only 4 stages???? The first Dirt had 6 locations at launch and many more stages, hill climbs, races etc... This only has 5 rally locations and several rally cross tracks??????

I'm glad I picked this up at $20... Barely even made it worth while.

I cant believe i spent £64.00 on it and got roped into the Codemasters bandwagon. Glad i got my money back, i'll revisit it in a few months when its a lot cheaper and when they can be arsed to fix it.

Really enjoying it, not really spent much time in anything powerful yet, just working my way through the first season of the career in a fulvia, equal amounts of frustration and enjoyment. Just done New Zealand, what a laugh, but WOW... So good when you get into a rhythm on the corners, the stages just flow, but as soon as you make the slightest mistake and you fall out of that rhythm prepare for pain!
Properly getting me back into the Race sim feel, and having me thinking of upgrading my setup. Running G920 at the moment, and thinking of supplementing it with a Thrustmaster TSS Handbrake Sparco Mod with desk clamp and one of these https://www.3drap.it/product/sequential-shifter-mod-g27-g29/
I do eventually want to upgrade to the Thrustmaster TX wheel setup with sparco rally wheel and T3PA pedal set, but that will have to be a long term plan as its a lot of money, not Fanatec type money, but still more than I can shell out on an extravagance in a month.

One thing I am a bit annoyed at, its brutal in the graphics department, at full whack I struggle to clear 45fps+and dips as low as low 20's at times, and thats on a 1080. Maybe I was being a bit nieve but I didnt expect to be suffering frame rates like this on an 1080.
I think maybe I should start saving towards a RTX 2080ti, so pricey though! I dunno we'll see... Hopefully we'll see some optimisations and improved performance through game and driver updates.

This might also give me reason to dip my toes into the VR world again when its eventually implemented, however I do worry about performance...

I was running it at max but with CMAA instead of SMAA, average around 120fps but dips to the 50's in heavily crowded areas (crowds), it's the game, not much hardware can do as I've got a 2080 ti heavily OC'd. Poor optimisation.

what res you at ? 1080,1440 you should be fine with that card.could be driver related i record 60 fps capped sometimes on a lower gpu that your using. as for expensive wheels if its for realism go for it if its for improving times dont bother.

1440 with latest release drivers from Nvidia. I havnt really spent a lot of time tweaking settings and not really looked at what was causing the framerate issues as I really havnt had the time, might be crowd related as well? I just dialed back a few settings until everything seemed smooth and went at it. It just surprised of how poor the framerates were with everything turned up, never really encountered such issues with other recent releases. Will look into it more later when i have the time and patience. Visuals havnt really been impacted hugely by dialing things back anyway, still looks great, just a little annoying knowing that I cant comfortably play with everything on max... first world problems and all that!:p

Looking forward to Monte Carlo later in the month!

I’m at 4K on a heavily oc 2070. Getting 60+ fps most the time with a few tweaked settings but it just tanks at times down to 30ish and I’m thinking it’s down to optimisation. Rally cross even with other cars doesn’t seem to have the same issue.

Game is bloody gorgeous though and I love it. I did only spend £20 on it and whilst it’s short on content I won’t grow tired of the engine and drivetrain noises!

turns crowds down. you pretty much mentioned the cause. i think maybe new patch next week new cars tomorrow.

Oh, didn't even notice there was an option. Thanks!

Shame though, already finished the 'career' and uninstalled lol. I'll take note of this when they release more content (aka, the rest of the game lol).

"Completed the 'career' last night"> With assists or with out assists?

One method helping with FPS and Stuttering see below-

Try locking your GPU's fps to match your monitors/TV refresh rate as mines only 60Hrtz, GPU FPS is locked at 60 plays silky smooth.

If your monitors refresh rate is 75/100Hrtz give it ago, your GPU runs cooler as well.

Lol it might be my eyes but can't tell the difference between high or ultra Graphics setting when using my TV 1080p, when comparing with my 1440p monitor set at 1080p.

I have tried that but still get dips plus the screen tearing.
