DiRT Rally Hits Steam Early Access

Are people using traction control etc? It's off by default and I was thinking its best to leave it that way? :)

Man Up and switch the likes of ABS, Traction Control off, etc.

Learn to drive the cars with these gimmicks off will pay dividends in the long run.:D

I suck horribly at this :D

Been in since it first released but haven't really played much. It did give me an excuse to add a handbrake to my rig though. As I had a bit of time today thought I'd finally start a career now it has hit v1.0. Picked the Lancia Fulvia as I'm not a Mini fan

Probably killed myself several times over in Greece and Wales. Having a lot of trouble with the gearbox, specifically the 3>2 downshift. Being used to modern tarmac race cars where you can slam through the gears this thing seems to take an age to shift. Are those of you who are using a manual gear box blipping on downshift? I seem to be doing better without, at least getting it in gear more often, but a lot of the time I seem to end up in neutral and have to clutch in and shift again. Am I trying to change gear to quickly?

The other problem I have is that the car often seems to stall on the start line or after I've crashed, no matter how quickly I clutch in. I then have to shift to neutral, press the accelerator and then put it in gear. Am I missing a trick here?

DG - You're the man! Any help with setting up this G920? Seem to be fighting against the force feedback its that strong, dont have a clue which options to edit. Would you advise using the shift or paddles?

Grabbed this in the steam sale finally and not been able to put it down, just need to get the cars unlocked but been doing stages over and over and times are coming down big time :D

Makes you wonder though why the WRC official games are the way they are and then you have this and its not an official Rally game. As others have said, hopefully over time more will be added to this track wise and cars but loving it so far :D

Also quite surprised how well this runs with all settings maxed out.

degrees try 200-540 (900 if you want a purist arm wrestle :D)

self aligning torque is the thing that throws most people i have that low. default is 100 try maybe 20-30.

i don't have soft lock on.no assists.remember each type of surface is different.

drive a easy car for a start before trying to progress. the older dirts are nothing like this . so expect small progress before getting anywhere. that's why this is so rewarding.

there is talk of maybe more cars coming.not sure which.

Thanks mate. What about shifter? Noticed when I was crashing I couldn't get going again in first and how the hell do you reverse using a wheel? :D
