DiRT Rally Hits Steam Early Access

did this yesterday and to me probably my fav run i done since owning this game.

the peugeot 205 t16 is a monster to control on the edge and sweet lamb aka the body bag :D combined is probably the hardest thing in the game to do fast.

so setting a new PB by nearly 3 secs and #2 in the world was really happy with this run.

to highlight from starting this game my first run with this car and sweet lamb was which i though good 6:20 ish :D

so i basically shaved a minute off it with practice.

done 3 different views to show how clean the run was and i dont think honestly i could do it much better .

Very impressive mate! Been watching a few of your videos, they look insane! Are you using a wheel or controller?

Its not AB that causes it to bomb, as it does it without it running as well, fire the benchmark away, and when it loads to run, i get a beep, monitor goes into standby, and my kb locks, so i have to hard restart, very odd.

Just found this is a driver issue, with Xfire and FreeSync, which im running, as its in the latest driver release notes, so its not my rig :p

Having just returned to this game it's amazing how much easier & better this game is with a wheel (G27 in my case). Originally I tried it when it first appeared with a pad and boy was it hard too steer and keep on the road. With a wheel it's a whole different game (more so than any other racer I've used). Most fun I've had in ages and it's official release offers much.

Physics on tarmac still needs a lot of work IMO on germany it feels like mario kart handling it's horrible. On snow, dirt and mud however it's spot on!

How do you guys have the wheel set up? Just on a desk or a proper chair set up? I love the g27 and have sampled the game wih it and it felt great! But its just impractical for me to have a wheel set up at my desk and be able to do other stuff on the pc between racing. Any pro wheel using tips to get around these issues :D

And i imagine you just use the paddle shift not the H shifter? I found that clumsy on the g27, its to flimsy to get a feel for changing the gear and it kept putting itself in neutural!

Wheel stand Pro I use on my G27 and I have a separate mancave that has a good deal of room for racing and regular pc gaming. If Space is limited even a wheel stand pro is hard to hide.

Has anyone else read this terrible review of Dirt Rally yet?

http://www.pcgamer.com/dirt-rally-review/

The cars look different, sound different, but they feel incredibly similar and lacking any real, unique character. They have similar weight, similar grip, similar gear ratios. Swapping from a '70s rear-wheel-drive Stratos to a 2010 Fiesta will come with faster times and a more responsive, stable car, but it's not enough, and cars in the same groups are barely distinguishable.
