DiRT Rally Hits Steam Early Access

Couldn't sleep so a bit of early morning Dirt was in order...

Managed to get 6:10 on Sweet Lamb somehow. I recorded the replay with fraps but I try and convert it to upload to youtube it loses its sound. .

Somewhat off topic but what are you guys using to record your game? thanks
 
Just using MSI afterburner here with some codec they recommend. Bit of a performance hit (hence why I just record the replay) , but file sizes are very good.
 
Thanks for the suggestions. I installed Raptr but it seemed like it was only going to record 2 mins? I must have been doing something wrong.

The file sizes from Fraps are insane, 70GB for 6 mins of video lol
 
2x290, though I have xfire disabled for Dirt as it seems to run smoother on a single card.

I'll have to give Raptr another go, thanks :)

Oh for god sake will you lot stop doing really good times lol. Im desperate to have another go now but we have to go out for a bit boooooo.

Did you crash or anything JP ? That must have been an epic run.

I tried using shadowplay but for some reason it isn't capturing the replay or anything at all. Anyway, i gotta some how get my time down 10 seconds.
 
jp7152 nice run ;) will try bit later . the sound thing should be to do record sound option in fraps. try it unticked or ticked.should work i use fraps.
 
Just got a g27 for this, being my first wheel. Slowly getting the hang of it but I really wish I had a hand brake to tug on now and then (hmm, questionable sentence there..).

What do you guys set for the handbrake? pref with a g27.

Can you not just buy a usb one without having to solder the g27? don't want to risk mucking it up!
 
On my CSR Elite pedals I use the clutch as my handbrake, with gears set to sequential using gears 3 & 4.
 
I use my TH8A as a handbrake, set to analog mode. Haven't seen a usb one, and most sim racing handbrakes need fixing to a cockpit seat.

I use flappy paddle buttons for gears and the shifter as handbrake on DFGT

I use button 7, which is the top one on your right thumb.

Just did the league challenge and totally blew it on the second stage, lost my lights right at the beginning and kept hitting rocks I couldn't see!
 
Finally made enough money to get the 205 in career mode. Just can't quite make it in to the top 3 for the clubman leagues yet.

I'll put my time in the OcUK league now I think.

Edit: Put my times in. Who put that rock there on the night stage :( Lost my lights about 2/3 of the way through.

20sec off the leader with no lights? Amazing! :eek: I lost my lights and spent the rest of the Stage mostly upside-down sliding around on the roof of the car. :p:(

How could you see? :confused:
 
Lost my lights 2/3 of the way through too!! Think it might even have been the same rock :D. Also stacked it twice in the first stage so picked up two penalties (14 and 11 seconds). Pretty happy with 1 min off as a result.

Anyone had the career mode not saving their progress?

No matter what I buy / race, every time I quit & go back in I've the same cars & cash available.
