DiRT Rally Hits Steam Early Access

Pikes Peak returns to DiRT. Rebuilt from the ground up and now featuring the modern full tarmac route alongside the mixed surface variant. We’ll also be including a full Hillclimb season mode and putting some Hillclimb Online events into the rotation. Obviously you’re going to need some wheels and you’ll find a collection of hillclimb cars added too.

Just had my first blast on this and instantly love the game.

I retired my poor Mini however :o
 
Got the game and tried it out, really enjoyed my Mini. Got enough money for a newer car (note newer, not better) got a RWD, the cosworth, I hate it :(. Gonna save up for a 4wd. The gameplay is really fun though.
 
Trick I found with the Sierra Cosworth was to stiffen it up, lower it a tad and tighten the gearing right up. Works a treat! :cool:

I'm trying desperately to figure out why my newly bought Group.B Audi Quattro just doesn't have any feeling of life in it whatsoever. I was so looking forwards to getting it... :(

Also, what happens with the Career/Championships, why can't you re-run them in the Cars you didn't buy the first-time? It would be a good way to grind some cash and get more cars upgraded, I really don't want to do the Elite Championships in one of the older cars just to upgrade it as it takes too damned long with the 10 Stages per Event :p

What's the feedback for the next season then? What would you like? What didn't you like etc?
 
I'm struggling on the Monaco tracks, the AI seem to defy the laws of physics on Ice and seem to always be 2-3seconds ahead, There's only so much speed I can carry into an snow/icy corner in an Mk2 Escort :(

Monaco tracks seem impossible at first :D

what you need to do is just race clean dont over do it and just try to pinch odd second when you can. most tracks you will be close to lvl or just behind but then in one track you maybe will get a break and be up just enough to cover the lot.

there's one cant remember the name :p which is lots of ice and snow but you can cain that and gain bit time. i won it with 22 secs spare which won me the rally.

just need to practice. don't over hand brake the escort.

Well done RobM.

I started late so didn't bother much with this season but I'm 100% game for the next one, I think some of the newer cars being used this time and more nightime/rain for the challenge.

All this new content for free, well the original price I paid of £22.50 which is a bargain, right? especially how good the game is!
 
Cheers had no idea I'd win just went very steadily and cautiously every stage and it seemed to pay off!

Group B, A and 2010 cars next time around??
