Dishonored 2

As for those without issues, just because you're not having issues, doesn't mean there isn't an issue... Children, honestly.

You're making me LOL now :D

When people were having issues with the remastered Skyrim, you weren't very interested as it was running perfectly fine for you!

Plays perfectly smooth for me and graphically I think it's fairly decent for a free upgrade!

Honestly, some of you lot need to grow up, throwing temper tantrums because the game isn't the next best looking AAA title out this quarter.

Truly pathetic.

Thank you Leon, this has made a big difference, game is playable now, but I can still see huge frame drops, atleast gysnc is smoothing it out, as before I was dipping into the mid teens making it useless.

Might be some help to some.

Low FPS Fix for Nvidia:

According to a report from Dishonored 2 early players, Arkane Studios failed to optimize the game properly and a result FPS performance is not up to the mark. Thankfully, a small trick has been discovered which drastically improves Dishonored 2 FPS performance on Nvidia cards. Reddit user Snundae reports:

"After using the Nvidia control panel to change the program-specific settings for Dishonored 2, and changing the maximum pre-rendered frames to 1, my FPS is now a constant 60-150FPS"

Many of you might not be aware of the steps to access this "maximum pre-rendered frames" setting. Follow the steps provided below:

Step 1: Go to Nvidia Control Panel
Step 2: Then to Manage 3D Settings
Step 3: Then to Program Settings
Step 4: Select Dishonored 2
Step 5: Select Maximum Pre-rendered Frames

This trick makes the game run smooth even on the roof top parts of Dunwall at a high graphics setting. I used the term "TRICK" to describe this workaround because this was applicable in the Battlefield 1 and Arma 2. This trick reduces CPU load.

Additional setting changes (try these additional changes also along with pre-rendered frames if above thing does not work):

Set Power management mode to prefer maximum power. If you are using Vsync then use Adaptive Vsync and switch off the in-game Vsync. Also, make sure Dishonored 2 is running in the fullscreen mode for this to work. Also, We recommend you to switch off HBAO+ in game setting.

Thx for the info, can this not be fixed in a future update, or can only be done manually like you say.

im not sure how adaptive vsync works but when i turned it on (globally) and turned v-sync off ingame it wasnt locking my frames at all.. so i just turned v-sync on ingame and now locked to 60

few drops here and there but the game just doesnt feel right for some reason, like its not running smoothly.. i did the suggestion above too

but for now it is playable and have enjoyed the hour or so ive played (started as corvo)

running an i5 4670k and gtx 970 btw

Difference was I wasn't claiming there to be no issues, and I was highlighting the amount of childish comments "this game is borked!" etc etc.

Playing it 4K. Just finished the first level and it was fun. The kill animations and combat are good. I am going around lobbing the baddies heads off for fun, very little stealth for me :p

Took me a while to get the settings for the game to a point where I was happy. At first I had issues with the mouse, but fixed that. Getting between 30-60fps depending on location. But most of the time the fps is between 40-50fps which is fine for me (I am old school like that) :p

My settings:

Resolution 3840x2160
Adaptive Resolution = 100%
HBAO+ = Off
V-Sync = Off
Texture, Model, Environmental and Water = Ultra
Rest = Very High
Anti-aliasing = TXAA 1x
Depth of Field = Off
Lens Flare = Off
God Rays = Off
Rat & Bloodfly Shadows = Off
Rest = On

-

Mouse sensitivity = 18
Everything else Off or on 0.

Nvidia panel I settings:

Maximum Pre-rendered Frames = 1
Power Management = Prefer Maximum Performance

Lucky I have 8GB VRAM as the game uses 7GB :D

Just came in here to get some salt for my popcorn from people who STILL preorder games in 2016. ;)

Must have a lot of bite marks all over you from all those dogs if you're picking up what I'm putting down. ;)

I am playing everything on ultra, nothing turned off, vram used only 2385 MB, is this because i am only running aat 1080P ?, is there different textures loaded then if i did run at higher resolutions ?

Anyone tried playing this with a controller?

Depends, not every area was 7GB for me, some much less. Turned off my overlay as I am getting into the game now that I have adjusted things to my liking. But yes, higher the resolution the more vram tends to be used as far as I know.

Oh, I also reduced Water Details from Ultra to Very High, makes a big difference in fps when there is a lot of water around.

Some areas 60+ with everything ultra and TXAAx1 @ 1440p. On a 980ti

However, some dips down to minus 20. Ouch :(

I'll wait for a couple of weeks for a patch. Can't wait to get stuck into this!

seems like fps is tied to mouse sensitivity anyway to fix it higher fps lower sensitivity when fps drops sensitivity gets higher weird, also game doesn't feel so smooth not sure if gsync is working or not .

apart from that looks great
