Fungus? No **** that, I hate mushrooms, and tofu, and soya. In fact, I hate just about everything vegan. I would be malnutritioned. As for the animals, it’s them or me.

If they're on offer or even if not, give quorns Southern style chicken burgers a go. They're surprisingly good and I actually prefer them to a chicken burger!

I think a rather important question is whether or not people would rather eat genetically modified crops and/or genetically modified animals?

If we keep rearing animals for food they will eventually be edited beyond recognition with 'natural' being extremely expensive or more likely outright extinct as the Big Pharma doesn't want competition. Arguments about 'good' welfare kind of go out the window when the animal can't even move anymore for all the meat it's carrying.
square pigs?

I think a change may come if ‘lab grown’ meat becomes a cheaper and exact replica of actual meat
I genuinely like Greg's vegan sausage roles. taste wise they nailed em. texture wise they are a bit sloppy but I can live with that.

the only downside is....... unlike most vegan food they are almost as unhealthy as the real deal.

can't have it all I guess, taste , health and sustainability. but like meatloaf said... 2 out of 3 ain't bad

I agree, once you stick on some salad and some mayo there isn't much in it taste wise. they are excellent. pricey tho and there in lies the problem. we are in a cost of living crisis and whilst i *could* afford it, most people already balancing on the knife edge with 2 kids and a family to look after couldn't.

gas chamber

Bout bloody time, can't believe it took you this long to get on your soapbox. Cmon man, you've got activism to do

Also, gas chamber?

I just looked out of interest, they are under £3 for a box of four (if I'm looking at the right ones) which seems to be quite a bit cheaper than the real chicken alternative.
I might give them a go, I only eat meat about three times a week now on average. I don't even like it that much these days. We had a beef lasagne tonight, I think I would have preferred a veggie one tbh!

I want to kick a dog, I like it, if you don't want to kick dogs that's fine but don't tell me what I can and cant do.
The **** dude? Why do you like kicking dogs? You know that’s illegal right unless it’s in self defence or to protect someone else from the dog? Do you just go round randomly kicking dogs or do you have a specific one you like to kick?

it depends what you are talking as an alternative. I mean meat has gone up a lot (Aldi chicken 1/4 pounders which lets be honest destroy them 12 months ago were 99p for 2 and they are now £1.85)
but I suspect those who are skint are not buying Birdseye. go to Iceland and it's £3 for 10 burgers. bear in mind I think a year ago these were £2.. but even at £3 that isn2.5x the price if you are saying £3 for 4x Quorn chicken style burgers

Are most Vegans passive aggressive, slightly arrogant obnoxious people with a bit of chip on their shoulder types?
I’ve only know a few but they had similar personalities when I think about.

Most, yes. I know a few who are just normal people without the delicious tasty meat and they'll happy attend BBQs and whatnot and bring their own food if needed. They also detest the windowlicky ones, like cry baby bunting up in here.

thing is some meat eaters wont question things , programmed and indoctrinated from birth like little wind up toys to follow a set path until inevitably they die of cancer or heart disease ,game over
poor education doesn't help

I whack a bit of cheese on and some sauce - normally a Chipotle mayo type. Really tasty.

Were you born a vegan?

and there are no unhealthy vegans then? it's possible to have an unhealthy diet containing meat for sure...... but equally it's possible to have a healthy one with meat too, and further more it's easier to have a balanced healthy natural diet containing meat than it is vegan.***

***note not saying it isn't possible but it's harder work and more expensive

vegetarianism is much easier than veganism.

but even discounting that... LIFE is a terminal disease. love long enough and eventually most people will end up with cancer or a stroke or a heart attack
it's like alcohol..... now that IS unhealthy and it's harder to justify beer in your diet than it is meat from a health point of view.

but never drinking beer again ? sod that. indeed hypothetically I do not know which I would give up 1st... beer or sausages? it does not bear thinking about :D
