Humans are carnivores yes. You can do whatever you want but the optimal diet for a human being is meat.
A meat based diet cures diabetes, obesity, heart disease etc. etc.

Consuming large amounts of vegetables only really came about a couple of thousand years ago, for most of our history we've subsisted on predominantly meat.

You only have to walk down the street to see what a diet containing large amounts of plant products does to the human race.

I'm fairly sure this isn't true.
Humans would have had a mixed diet. If fruit and greens were available, these would be consumed. If meat was, this would be. Chimps diet is very omnivorous.

And health side of things?... There's plenty Of literature in that. Eating an entirely meat based diet? That's not going to end well.

Have a long hard look at any other ape's diet...

That said meat has contributed to our development as a species, however I think we've got enough resources and knowledge to do away with the need for it or at the very least the need to have animals suffer for it once vat-grown meat is sustainable/not garbage.

lmao, probably the most absurd comment out of the pages i've bothered to read, well done, thanks for the laugh anyway.

Bet you have a poster of Paul Saladino on your wall. Considering most people you see walking down the street will be eating processed meat, you've just played yourself. xD

Oh btw, citation needed on this extrodinary claim that meat cures diseases.

meat doesn't cause obesity, sugar does, I eat 100% animal products and have lost over 50kg in 1 year, my pre-diabetes is gone, my triglycerides have gone from 1.98 to 0.96, my apoB has dropped, my HDL is up
a few months ago I couldn't do 1 pushup, today I can do 9, yeah that isn't great but I'm losing weight but gaining muscle, my BP has dropped from 140's to 120's
my ankle brachial index is now 1.2

I tried largely plant based diets for the last 10+ years before that and they all failed to have any significant or long lasting impact

my joint paint, back pain, shoulder pain are all gone, I can actually excercise and do weights without getting an injury and then having to stop for weeks at a time
my sinus problems have also cleared up

I also never really feel hungry - I eat once or twice a day and don't get any cravings for crap, when there is junk food in the house I can ignore it completely (I must have been a nightmare to live with before that because the only way I could ignore junk food was to not allow it in the house)

Is this where I put my meatopia pics?

I jest, however I had some fascinating chats with chefs yesterday about the animals they were cooking and where they came from. The charcoal guy was awesome too; sustainably grown in Oxfordshire. His quote when talking about the charcoal industry was "someone is paying, even if you aren't" i.e. poor people from poor countries providing us with cheap stuff because we don't want to pay more.

I think where much of this stuff falls down is Joe Bloggs likes the idea of supporting animals having a nice life and similar but when it comes down to money they end up buying their meat, charcoal, etc. from Tesco in nicely neutered packaging full of marketing to make you feel better. Sustainably sourced, Red Tractor, etc. It's mostly ********.

Racing to the bottom.

**** avocados.

Being vegan is more than what you eat, its your clothes and cosmetics as well. Its not a diet.

Humans are carnivoes? lol wat. No, were technically omnivores.

It’s seems being vegan means becoming all sorts of things. Most prominently a person baiting others into emotional arguments in attempts to morally shame them.

The absolute crackpot meat eaters that come out in these threads is shocking.
lol this is hilarious if you don't think this is true of both sides....
the difference is I respect vegans for their life choices as long as they don't break the law.
IF you have a problem with people eating meat then campaign for the law to be changed on animal husbandry , being vitriolic against people who are doing nothing wrong just makes you (not you literally) look an ass.

if someone wants to come to me in passing and say I am a vegan I think eating meat is cruel and unnessesary then cool I can respect that

if they want to be vile and force dodgy videos down my neck they can do one

Ha, we definitely don’t have enough knowledge. Humans are really pretty stupid and dangerous as a collective.

And failing. Spectacularly.

My bacon tasted extra nice whilst reading this thread this morning, that poor piggy in the gas chamber :(

when humans started farming vegetables our brains shrank 10%

also, how did we survive the ice age? and what about the inuit?

Sure humans can survive on goat food, but its not optimal and doesn't have the best health outcomes.

Definitely crack pots on either side. Extreme anything is bad. As it is with most aspects of life.

You should martyr yourself for the movement.

That’s very interesting.

100% eh, I smell something.

Enjoy the scurvy

meat does actually contain vitamin C in small amounts, when you aren't cramming your body full of **** it doesn't need the requirement for vitamin C also drops
in napoleonic times the known treatment for scurvy was horse meat (and it was a successful treatement)

and no you can't smell anything, I literally only eat meat, fish, eggs and high fat dairy (cheese, butter, yoghurt etc.)

look up the carnivore diet, its a thing and its recommended by multiple doctors including one who is a heart surgeon
