^^^^ this is the crap I'm talking about... let's try and use emotionally charged or attempted shock tactics as a crutch because my argument can't stand on its own merits.

@lovelyhead @Johno please? Do things like Avocados form part of.your diet at all?

Again Richie struggling with the facts, why do you even bother responding, you dont care about animals thats quite obvious.

What facts? All you post are links from propaganda websites and emotionally charged attempts at shock tactics - those aren't facts, they are poor attempts at constructing an argument.

Your attempts to patronise are also just silly and desperate - "I can't respond articulately so I'll throw a Hail Mary and state the other guy isn't intelligent enough to grasp facts... That'll show him".... Give over

Are you denying these terrible things happen to animals?

That was not the point of the post... A counter to a previous post was to copy and paste a quote stating that vastly more Soya is used to I'm animal feed than human feed therefore the wild animal deaths attributed to this goes towards the meat industry.

I simply responded with my own copy/paste effort using a well known vegan food source that is NOT used in animal feed to counter it...

But the ever growing demand for soy surpasses the quantity needed for direct human consumption options, such as avacados, which is leading to significant deforestation in the Amazon to accommodate soy plantations.

If it was just acres and acres of new avocado farms then yes, but it's not like these avocado plantations wouldn't be used for something else (probably soy!) if there wasn't demand for them.

I said you don't care and are obviously triggered by facts, never mentioned intelligence.

lol, hidden camera footage is "propaganda" xD out of those 3 facts I stated, which are wrong?

How about the the RSPCA, are they vegan propagandists? https://www.rspcaassured.org.uk/farm-animal-welfare/egg-laying-hens/what-is-chick-maceration/

I think it would stop most people TBH. Veganism isn’t going to stop people from committing criminal act’s.

Laws stop most people from committing crimes and yet there are loads of criminals out on the streets.

How can you be sure your pork chops didn't come from a pig beaten to death with a stick?

@lovelyhead

Here you go, you can check the EXIF data that I have just taken this picture and not copied.
We have a total of 4 freezer compartments full of this crap plus the top of the fridge with other stuff and a cupboard full of it.
What's worse is the smell, when she warms this stuff up we make her shut the doors and open the back door.
I'd rather starve than eat that rubbish.
Oh yeah and I do try bits, it's awful.

Ok what's your point?

How can any of us be sure where our goods come from. Your argument make no sense.

We have plenty of plentiful fish species.
But our oceans will be practically barren by 2050 and that's just if we continue on the projected path. And that's not just because we are removing the fish we eat, the whole ecosystem suffers, not to mention the impact of plastic in the sea, the majority of which comes from the fishing industry.

I just don't think there is an argument for replacing land based crop farming with seafood, especially as it's struggling so much with current demand?

I can be sure everything I eat hasn't been beaten to death. Unless you are the one killing the animal your meat comes from you can't be sure. My argument is pretty straightforward.

That it takes zero effort what you constantly keep harking on about.
Did you know that there are shelves in supermarkets dedicated to this stuff where zero homework is needed?
You can just go and buy the crap.

Vegans don't exclusively eat stuff from the vegan aisle, and sometimes a quick check of the label is required to see if there are any animal derived ingredients in it.

If all you eat is speciality vegan food then yes it is very easy. There are plenty of other products that are not specifically vegan or vegetarian products that may or may not contain meat products that you need to check the ingredients of. I am not saying it is a huge hardship but it is an excuse some people probably use to not go veggie.

I really don't think we are disagreeing much here to be honest.

Well probably not, in the future the oceans will very likely become a critical food source. Veganism isn’t a sustainable future because most of the earth can’t sustain crops and the farmable areas of the planet needed to feed the woulds population would require the extermination of pretty much all animal life, but that is a different topic and rather beyond the scope of a forum.

You can’t be sure. Someone might have dropped a load of pork into your vegan mince for a laugh. Your argument is overly emotional.

Ok maybe that was a bit hyperbole of me! But unless serious action is taken then our ocean and sea life would be seriously compromised, hopefully it won't come to that.

But you're obviously aware of that and I agree is probably a bit more than we can cover here.

It's an interesting argument that eating fish causes less animal deaths than eating plant based options. I'd have to look into it further as there are still huge issues with fishing and its impact on the wider ecosystem, I wonder if the amount of unintended animal deaths can even be quantified

Also, I'm not sure if you could live healthily on a purely seafood diet, another thing to potentially look into.

But you've given me something to think about! :)
