Do people really use Gmail?

Mine gets spammed, but the filter blocks it ALL. I must get 30 spam messages a day or so for some reason ?

I have my name @gmail.com and my forum name @gmail.com. Currently have the forum forward to my personal, however I may set up a third and have the two forward to that in an attempt to avoid spam :p

I've used Gmail since it first came out - been very happy with it. It catches hundreds of spam emails per day, but I never see them so it doesn't bother me. Now I have a T-Mobile G1, Google has become an even more important part of my life! :p

Interesting to read everyones take on it.

Amusingly I did also find a lot of emails from people who had obviously got the email wrong of someone with the same name as me. Obviously I replied to them all.... :D

Of course, how else does one make new friends? :)

I probably get 200 hundred spam e-mails a day but they all go into my spam folder and I never see them/notice them.

Probably about three per month get through the spam filter.

The Nokia Messaging app works very well with GMail too. Very handy out and about on my E71.

I use gmail for all my important stuff, eg e-tailor accounts/ebay/banking etc. I use it with Thunderbird and have never had any problems. I just checked gmail through the browser and there was zero spam and i have never had spam through it before.

I use my hotmail for all non-important stuff and get a bit of spam on that.

I've been using GMail with my Google Apps hosted domain account since July last year after giving up Outlook. Not looked back since, even better now GMail has offline support.

Never ever had a single spam message on my main google apps account. Had it for over a year now.

My Gmail spam account gets about 50 spams per day, all filtered out though.

I use Gmail entirely for its spam filtering. I route my own domain-based email accounts through it and send them to my iPhone or laptops, so I can access it on the go without the need to download all of the junk. Very handy, particularly as the iPhone lacks built-in spam filtering.

I also use it like this..

same here - I get spam but I've never seen it get through the spam filter - nor have I seen good e-mail ended up being tagged as spam - very impressed

What is this spam you all talk of?
I've used email for the last 12 yrs and have never got spam. Am I just not surfing the dodgy sites or are my providers super good at removing it before it gets into my mailbox? I'm now using Hotmail.co.uk as my primary mail due to working overseas and in the last 5 months I've used it, yet again, not a single piece of junk mail. Guess I'm just lucky.

I like the fact that even when using an email program like outlook or Thunderbird, the emails stay at gmail and outgoing mails are saved at gmail too, no more messing around when away from home and no deleting of anything needed thanks to the nice mailbox size :).

I get hundreds and hundreds of spam emails per month. I literally look at it maybe twice a year. I use the address as my slightly more professional address (my usual one is a bit silly), then i just set it to forward emails from important people to my regular address.

I can't believe how much spam i get to my gmail.
