Do people really use Gmail?

I only use gmail now. I don't need to check the spam folder as its never made a mistake. Its fast, wroks all the time and can be accessed anywhere, plus there's the app on my iPhone.

Sacked Outlook and POP3 mail years ago.

Yep, use it for everything too. Spam filter is excellent, POP/SMTP/IMAP access is superb, as is the mobile GMail app. The chat app is the icing on the cake though, as it's a life saver at work because they block MSN. :)

The latest gmail updates have been amazing, i rate it above any other mail service AND client available.

The inline chatting and video watching for youtube is amazing, I have daily conferences with workmates LOLing at life in general and sharing youtube funny videos etc inline - it's very streamlined especially with the LABS extensions enabled.

The speed of it is also no different to any local mail client AND now you canget Gmail offline too via new LABS addition.

Couldn't live without it. I've got it all setup and working perfectly now. I have 3 old addresses which forward to my new address with labels showing which account they've come from.

My phone uses push so i get emails instantly using imap (often before my computer) and i love the fact i can login anywhere. I don't even bother using outlook anymore on my home pc because the webmail interface is so good.

Some of the labs are useful as well. I've even gone as far as importing all my old mail from psts so i have every email i've ever sent/received in my google account and i'm only using 1/7th of the space :)

i've got 3 gmail accounts, unfortunately when you sign up to a forum, you're already at risk of getting spam -mine did from ocuk (security flaw a while back)

i have one account that is ONLY linked to a facebook account and it gets zero spam.

the gmail spam filter is awesome though, and the speed it opens makes yahoo/hotmail look like a joke

Gmail is awesome.

I use POP3 on my desktop, and IMAP on the laptop - works perfectly.

Spam Filter is 99.9% effective.

I signed up for two accounts when it first started in 04/05 or whenever it was, however I never used them and therefore never gave out the addresses or used them on any websites.

I retrieved them today (to my amazement) and I had 200+ spam emails in each. Not so unusual you might expect, however gmail deletes spam older than 30 days.

200+ spam messages in a month on an account that has never seen the light of day? What must it be like for people who actually use their accounts? Is this normal?

I hardly get any spam on my GMail account & I've had it since early beta.

I use Gmail and it's great!

The themes is a nice recent addition aswell!

Also I can see a preview my e-mails on iGoogle (my homepage)

i don't get any spam in my inbox,... it goes to my spam box

infact i wanna defend gmail...

gmails rocks, the best web based email account i have ever used. i would not go back to any of the others, they constanly work on new ideas and add ons... my spam box gets hit but none make my inbox. I use a firefox add on that hides my spam count aswell.

I've been using G-Mail since its launch, the spam filter is great and the imap/pop 3 support is another added bonus.
