Do people really use Gmail?

Had an account for years, only started to use it regularly last year as I can get on my iPhone. And very good it is too especially for handling junk mail.

Pwns the socks off Hotmail, which since moving to that AJAX interface sucks so hard.

I have a GMail account as well as my normal one and Im using it more and more all teh time because it has such good filters.

I am happy to say that I seem to be the odd one out as I have not to this day had a single spam through my GMail account?

I set it up over a year ago too!
 
I much prefer my yahoo address, but only because I've spent ages creating filters and folders. Never used GMail, I don't like the idea of targeted adverts.

And I don't store email, so have no need of huge amounts of storage space.
 
Adverts, what adverts?!

You should use Gmail a few times, I used Yahoo's old and latest online client (work purposes for testing mail delivery) and had to stop myself from laughing at the clunky interface Yahoo, MSN and AOL use.
 
I just found their interfaces to be too all over the place.

I think Yahoo is certainly better than it used to be and they've invested heavily in it, which is good. Its also certainly better than hotmail's excuse for a service :p. But Google have defined a new very high standard for web interfaces and email storage. I sometimes don't like the fact i use them for just about everything now days, but i do because it's all well thought out and a pleasure to use. Also GMail labs inspire new improvements all the time and some of the additions are already invaluable. Couldn't be more happy.
 
Under your username at the top of the screen should be an option to go to Mail Classic:

The new version doesn't look too bad to be honest, just like outlook/thunderbird.
 
It's all down to how you use it, no one service is massively better (or worse) than another, I've found.
I have one account from each, my Hotmail gets the most spam as i use it the most (the first I set up), where as my Gmail has no (or very very rarely) spam as this one is only shared with a few people/places. My Yahoo account I would rank as the 'worst', if I had to say, but i rarely use that for personal stuff, and it is used in a few forums etc.
Hotmail (from what i've heard) seems to be the easiest to gain illegal access to, and i am reducing the usage of that where i can.
Whichever has the biggest online presence (most publicly visable) will attract the most spam.

I've been using gmail since I signed up in 2005, use it religiously and as such, i'd expect to get a lot of spam. I don't get a single piece of actual spam, can't remember the last time I did.

What do you people sign upto?
 
My gmail is my primary, but i use it on my mobile via POP, so the format of the browser itself is moot point as windows mobile uses a standard format anyways.

yahoo is utter tosh, do people other than 13 year old americans use it?
 
I love gmail, never going back to hotmail. I get a hell of a lot of spam but again it just goes into spam folder and very very rarely gets through to my inbox.

I use outlook 2007 so i just never see any of it.
