Do people really use Gmail?

i have had ZERO spam whatsoever on @googlemail. not one , bloomin amazed by it

my hotmail is a weird name/number combo and gets about 40 a day :/
 
Gmail is awesome, have been using it a couple of years now. I receive loads of the usual spam stuff but only very few, maybe only a couple a week, get past the filter.

i think even the great gmail is the same. my mate had his hacked and they said there was nothing they could do. best way to protect yourself from losing your email account is to purchase the extra storage space least that way you have something to claim in getting it back. quite common these days
 
I have my work email and another forwarding messages to a Gmail account hooked upto my phone. Not a single peice of spam yet, and the account has been open for a good 12 months now.
 
I have two email addresses with Gmail (one with google apps) and they both get spam but as people have said it filters it very well. The conversation style format for emails is good too.
 
I have 2 gmail accounts, I use them constantly and I get maybe 3-4 spams emails a month :/

Plus, it's great as I have a G1 phone giving me access to my gmail anywhere with notifications everytime I get one. Just wish it enabled me to edit G docs instead of just reading them.
 
when i first got gmail. it had zero spam. about year later. my spam box fills up with like 200+ each month.
 
I have a gmail account that i signed up for a couple of years ago. Never used it, never gave out the address yet it receives hundreds of spam emails. My btinternet email account which has the same address apart from the domain name hardly ever receives spam.

Then you must have used it on some dodgy sites or posted it online somewhere and someone has got hold of it.

But, at least the spam is being caught so not too bad really! :D

no, i dont post my email on message board or website. because even my university email is flooded with nigerian email scams.

its weird though. my hotmail account hardly gets any. that arnt legit that i cant actually unsubscribe to.

like you said it does get caught..but i rather not have it at all. the alternative is to open a new email account or set up my own mail server. which is just hassle
 
Gmail is my main email account , i have a lot of spam but it goes right into the folder and i just let my emails build up :P 216 (inbox) should check em at some point :D
 
mines' one of the early @gmail.com ones as oposed to @googlemail.com and never ever gets spam... i've had it since 2004 and have not had one bit of spam in my mail box or my spam folder... best account ever

gmail.com and googlemail.com are the same its just a shorter extension.

My main account's now spam compromised.... only happened early last year after buying Kaspersky. Was totally clean before then and wasn't even used for mails between friends and family etc.

Spam filter still does a cracking job though!
