Do we want to beat the Germans or what????

Ah, okie doke. Is it down often then?
At a guess, I'd say it was down 3 or 4 times a week on average, but not normally for more than an hour or so at a time.

It's been down nearly half the day today, the longest it's been down in the 2 or 3 weeks I've been doing TKC.

They've some routing problems iirc. Slackers! We should get 'em over here and show 'em how it's done!

On the plus side, it means we can all stash for a bit and then suddenly stomp those around us in the rankings :big grin:

It's getting slower to move up the charts now, but I think we'll be halfway up page 2 come the new year....continue borging people and small fluffy animals!

Sorry, I've been training our support staff at work this week and have had to quit the race as a result. It was inevitable that you were eventually going to do this, as I'm not such a prolific spa... erm, poster. :p

Well at least we're rocketing up the charts  Me and my friend had a masterful plan yesterday, may ask the Admins to install TKC on all the school computers and also SETI :D Our school big..

As long as you set up an individual account for each machine then.

Can't see any admins jumping at the chance of that amount of work.

i got myself into our top 40 at the same time :D ...

how do some people get more than 1million key presses in one day tho? surely thats a hack? as even if you are blatering the keyboard with 1000 key presses per minute that would be 16 hours non stop to reach a million. unless you can install this accross a network?

Indeed..we all have our own logins naturally but its in number form meaning it'll be easier to create new accounts - mine is 17422 for example.

Surely there is a way to maybe register it to one person and TKC records everything on the server? Or isn't it that advanced as yet?

Apparently SETI can just be installed on the server and it'll automatically load on each computer? Not very knowledgeable on that area :)

You can install it wherever you want. Having said that, they still have to be your own key presses.

I view anyone to have gotten a million key presses in a day as cheating. Pure and simple. Don't know how, don't want to, but there's no way you can get a million in a day without cheating.

TKC doesn't work like that, it's a standalone program.

It'd just run on each PC and have to have an account setup on it manually, and also those accounts registered with the TKC website too.

Can't see anyone wanting to do that for 100+ PCs :big eek:

Seti can be automatically rolled out to workstations in a network which pull their configuration from a main server. Seti's much easier because you just have one account for as many computers as you like.

The reason TKC say 1 account per user is because otherwise it wouldn't be very fair. Someone would load up TKC with their username on 100 computers and storm the rankings.

You could have had tkc installed on your computer for ages but not actually registered on the website.

That's what lazerblade and I did, since we downloaded tkc from Bob.uk and the tkc site was down, so we couldn't register.
