Do working toasters actually exist?

Dualit for me, almost indestructable but bloody expensive, unless you get a hand-me-down like I did.

We have a black and chrome Morphy Richard 4 slice job that toasts the full slice just fine. Has been a feature of our kitchen for as long as I can remember.

mines only a cheapo but once you find that certain setting its great ,i suppose the variables are thickness and temperature of the bread ,maybe moisture content and density

I'd happily pay 25% more for a toaster that, in a side by side 2 slice configuration, you can confidently buy most bread and it simply fits.

I can live with flipping halfway through, just don't make me have to cut down or force a slice of bread in to make it fit.

My gran gave me one, and it does just this. It fits everything! It's massive. It's also has an electric mechanisim, I.E no pull down. It doesn't toast perfectly even though :(

I can't find it online though. It's Russell Hobbs.

I have had a £10 DOMO toaster for about 10 years now and yes it’s small and a total POS but it toasts perfectly. I think in the same time my parents have gone through 3-4 various fancy things from the big players in the toaster game.

what do you prefer that made it better? big places might have conveyor toasters or other machines :

I see some toasters are 'faster' than others...but it's not out the question that someone might prefer the taste of a slower toaster, do you get toasters that you can alter the heat?

Erm, all of them adjust the heat? Unless they're proper poverty ones.

You need a conveyor toaster but they’re £300+

I find they usually need to go through twice and by that time they're burnt to buggery

I’ll have a look thank you :)

Honestly not fussed other than coverage of the burn. Mines on the blink and I was just wondering if it’s possible to get a decent one or if the issue is like someone mentioned earlier i.e. it’s more about inconsistent bread moisture.

What do you think a toaster should actually do?
I have never had a problem with any toaster, other than the very cheapest tat that is too small to fit a proper slice.

I’m curious as to whether I’ve just randomly never encountered a well cooked slice of toast (from a toaster in a non professional environment) or if there is actually no such product on the market. I’ll no doubt end up buying a generic toaster that’s just as average as every other I’ve ever had.

In the future a toaster with sensors and de focused laser beams for a wide burn might be the answer.

All someone needs to do is make a toaster that's 2 inches deeper than all the rest. They'd clean up. Why doesn't someone do this?

We have to flip over normal bread in our 4 slice Morphy Richards job. Yes it's been designed to look like a stealth bomber, but can it reliably toast 4 slices all over without turning?

Can it ****.
