Do working toasters actually exist?

All someone needs to do is make a toaster that's 2 inches deeper than all the rest. They'd clean up. Why doesn't someone do this?

We have to flip over normal bread in our 4 slice Morphy Richards job. Yes it's been designed to look like a stealth bomber, but can it reliably toast 4 slices all over without turning?

Can it ****.

We got this one,not perfect but `one` of the better ones we have tried

Are you on about the age old moan about none of them actually being big enough to evenly toast an entire slice of normal bread?
Now you mention it, why is this even a thing? I'm guessing the US and EU mustn't have Warburtons sized bread, so the companies cba making a special UK sized toaster? Kinda annoying having to flip the bread half way through and getting only the middle toasted properly.

My old work restaurant used to have a conveyer toaster. It toasted perfectly. Would deffo get one if I was rich and had the kitchen for it.

i don't understand tbh. i've never had a toaster that couldn't toast pretty much anything i put into it.

including frozen potato waffles. frozen garlic bread slices, etc.

basically anything that could fit. and wouldn't drip tons of grease.

buy cheapest one out of B&M job done. if it dies simply replace with another. expensive toasters don't do anything different than the cheap ones. they don't last longer either. i'm amazed at how they sell but that's marketing for you.

Nah, my Magimix vision lets me see the toast so I know it's exactly how I like it.

Also, the bagel function is put to use frequently so only the inside gets toasted, leaving a nice soft top to the bagel.

see mine has a nob which goes 0-10 or something possibly 0-6 or 0-8 can't recall.

all i had to do was stick it to 1 then put some bread in. not enough then stick to 2 and stick a new slice of bread in, rinse and repeat. i settled on 2.5. if someone want's it done more just put it in again and keep an eye on it, if they want it done less then just pop it after a while before it pops itself.

also only toasting the inside of a bagel? what is this? i didn't know that was a thing. never had issues with toasting both sides.

don't get me wrong i own a vitamix which is a £400 blender but i fully see the benefit of having one of them over a £100 blender. but a £5 toaster can do what a £100 one does IMO.

Well the point being that I don't have to guess at what number on the dial I need it / keep ejecting and starting again... can just look at a glance through the glass side!

Bagels are only supposed to be toasted on one side...

don't think I've spent that much on toasters in my lifetime but that Magimix toaster looks great, especially if you don't always use the same bread...or just want it toasted more or less, I never really rely on the timer, always checking

I find it great but an absolute pig to keep clean.

The Beckhams have one so must be good.... lol.

I miss the bagel function on my Jazzy toaster (Cuisinart) but it died out site of warranty and I refused to buy another one.

My cheap Aldi replacement lasted longer than my fancy one :(

I put a thread on here about my toaster taking too long to toast the bread with the result the toast was bone dry and hard.

Now sorted it - I use bread from the freezer so now while it is defrosting I put toaster on as well - when bread is defrosted turn off toaster then start as normal - I still have to turn bread but toast is now done in half the time and it is soft in center.

I also tried about every loaf of bread on the market before finally using Morrison's own toast bread.

Frozen bread. I do wonder why even bother?

Just buy bagels or something instead if you can't do a whole loaf in 3-4 days.

Because I can get a loaf of bread for like 7p and then freeze it. I only eat toast, and frozen bread defrosts and toasts perfectly in my toaster.

but freezing it strips moisture and the texture and flavour.

bagels are bread just in a slightly different form.

also where is bread 7p? last time i checked it was like £1.50 on average
