Do you believe in fate?

and to Nix or Nitefly, just because something isn't random, doesn't mean it has a purpose, I don't see where you get that from.
Lets assume I was on a Bus journey. I get off, then suddenly a car slams into the bus. I would have certainly be injured if I didn't move when I did.

What do you make of that situation?

It's not fate, you got off the Bus when you felt the time was right, which may or may not have been interupted by people wanting to get off the bus at the same time as you thus getting in your way etc...

The car was not looking or didn't react time, so hit you. This may have happened because he was listening to music, on a phone etc....

what makes it fate?

Sure, I am not stupid. However, the day I don't look the God of Fate & Chance may bite me in the ass.
And what about the car driver who doesn't have the chance to avoid your stepping out and ends up wrapped around a lamp post?

I don't believe in fate or luck. I don't see any reason to, the belief that there is a 'path' my life might follow that is already set out for me, smacks of delusions of grandeur; who said our existance is actually that important?

Maybe it was his fate to meet me in such a way? Maybe it was my role to cause their death? I don't know.

Maybe the Gods don't play dice after all?

Maybe it wasn't, maybe fate is actually a construct devised entirely by the human mind and it's tendancy to want explanations for events in their lives?
