Do you guys know if there is anything similar to speed dating but for making friends?

I asked a similar thing a while back... http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17697339

Well for some ideas of ways to meet people to socialise.

Why can't you just go speed dating and have a friendly chat to the people you meet, and see if they want to meet up again after? There's probabaly other people who aren't after a partner and are going to socialise as well or going to support a friend etc.

Everytime I go in that gym it's packed and I only ever go off peak! Never actually ventured into the pool though, might have to start going swimming again next semester.

When on earth do you go? I've been going for the past 3 weeks, lots of different times and I've not had to wait for anything!

Will probably be quite quiet at the moment, Easter break and coursework deadlines, keeps all us sweaty students out of the gym and in the library ;) :p

I was just about to say that! Yeah, not many people around at the moment because of Easter and stuff.

I think you can also get out and meet people if you start your own business. E.g. local business networking events, trade shows, industry conferences, trade fairs etc etc.

It's non-pressure socialising because you're there for business, if you make friends with people it's a bonus.

Good luck with it ... important thing is to get "out there" somehow, first step is the hardest.

Cheers
