Doctor Who

Certainly look to be daleks in this series, they were on a trailer the other night.
I am unsure now how they have left things, with all the timey-whimey things and gubbins they've spoke of previously.
Timelock is gone? No chance of homeworld returning? Everyone is out and about bar the timelords? Is that about right?

So I'm guessing the Tele-tubby Daleks never took off then? They were originally meant to be totally replacing the older style Daleks, now it just seems they're in the background in a sort of leader role (at least going by the last couple of seasons) after the somewhat negative response they got.

To be fair the design of them is fine, a bit chunky, but overall fine. They had to make new ones because I think at the time there were down to like their last functional old stylee Dalek.

It's just the colours that were a bit... iffy... should have stuck to the classic metallic darker tones.

If instead of yellow they had gone with Gold, instead of white; gunmetal, instead of bright red; dark metallic blood red etc. They would have been fine.

didn't he ask his kids to design those daleks ? lol.....

And that question is serious I'm sure I read it somewhere he makes the show for his own kids which is why it's a cheese fest comedy

Found the trailer really underwhelming, 60 seconds of 1-2 second flash clips that just seemed overly dramatic

Or maybe I still haven't gotten over Tennant leaving

I know its early but im just gonna get in now and say "that was crap" for the 1st episode.

Efour, that made me laugh a lot.

Let's make a couple of predictions from 2% of subscribed fans in this thread that post 90% of the "love" for the show :D

You can copy paste these so you don't need to type it out:
- terrible episode, shouldn't have expected anything better
- Smith's first episode was far better
- so much for a darker doctor
- bringing the Daleks back is such a cop out
- oh no not another story arc
- I know it's only a kids show but
- they need to fire Moffat
- what is Capaldi wearing

Alright, calm down, it's only a bit of fun.

I was thinking about the shows i've loved over the years and comparing them to new ones that crop up and it occurred to me that a lot of them that wouldn't normally have been to my taste, like Doctor Who, had awesome theme tunes. I hear the Doc's tune and i get excited or remember favourite scenes from episodes. I hear the theme tunes for most new shows and they just go over my head as they are generic.

Not much point to this post, just musing :)

There's every point to it, the theme tune for me is a big a factor as any in my own Dr Who experiences.

It is the ice cream van of fear from my childhood.
