Doctor Who

I know she leaving but that's the problems with a season full of 2 parter's you just think she will be back next week giving the scene not weight.

Overall all not a bad episode.

Well I don't know about anyone else, but I'm thinking the episode order isn't the Doctor's timeline order.

The clothes he was wearing in the current ep are the same as the Doctor from season 8, which means (assuming he didn't just fancy a wardrobe change) this episode happened earlier (for the Doctor) than the first 9 eps.

Which would explain why in the earlier eps the Doctor is very concerned about Clara's attitude to danger and her life... as he's already seen her die.

Though how it all fits together I'm not sure!

I still don't understand how the sonic sunglasses didn't get shot down as soon as it was mentioned and the guy responsible given latrine duty for a month.

To quote Moffat at the MCM London Comic-Con

Steven Moffat said:
As of now every kid with glasses is Doctor Who! Kid whose parents don’t want to shell out for a Sonic Screwdriver toy, just put on a pair of sunglasses, you’re Doctor Who! And best of all, every pin-brained celebrity walking into a party with shades on is now cosplaying Doctor Who!

If it *****s the pomposity of uber celebs and turns an eye defect into a super power and confers star-magic on an old pair of sunglasses, what could be more Doctor Who than that?

:D

Haven't watched since Matt Smith left, what's the opinions of the new Doctor?
IMO only...

Matt Smith had a lot of older Doctorey mannerisms well portrayed in a young body.
Tennant played an awesome character, but didn't actually feel like The Doctor.
Ecclestone did an unbelievable job, both in bringing back the character and putting his own spin on, which I feel was somewhat lifted by the following two.
All three still suffered from awful scripting and plot ideas.

Peter Capaldi feels like a proper Doctor again and hits the marks that the others fell just a little too short of.
Recent scripts have started to feel like Doctor Who again, probably because Moffat isn't helming them.

IMO, anyway... :)

Just a heads up, there's an article on the BBC about two actors in the Christmas special which has spoilers about the rest of this series in it. Don't read it if you're assuming it's just talking about characters and a basic plot, there's too much detail.

I don't understand why Steven Moffat would complain so much about spoilers:
“It's heartbreaking in a way because you're trying to tell stories, and stories depend on surprise. Stories depend on shocking people. Stories are the moments that you didn't see coming. If you are denied those, it's vandalism,”

...then go on to have a BBC interview revealing what's happening with the end of the series before it's even shown. The interview would have been better AFTER the last episode.

Well, if he gives away details on what is to come on Doctor Who in an interview, and then has gone on to complain about spoilers; well.... :/

Great job Moffat.

It was the other way, a few series ago he complained that two episodes were leaked early and spoilers posted online... then does the same thing himself this season.

Yeah. I should have noticed I got the order wrong. :p

Either way, it's an odd thing to do. Maybe he just forgot that he doesn't like spoilers being revealed. :p

If you're on about one of the previous episodes where she was a Dalek, then that's another Clara.

There's two Clara's must have missed that episode

For me Dr Who was great back in the day with Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker where one story was spread over a whole series now it's more like a snack where once it was a meal to get your teeth into

There were three, who lived in three different time periods; as a Dalek, a Victorian governess (Christmas special) and the Clara we know now; or maybe that should be knew.
